FOUR MONTHS LATER

"Hey little sis! Come on, our flight's in the next hour! We need to hurry! Grandpa and Aunt are already at the airport," my sister called from downstairs.

It's the beginning of a new year, but she's still the same sister I've always known.

"You don't have to yell," I said as we walked towards the garage.

"Are you not taking any important stuff with you?" She asked.

"Nope," I replied, popping the 'P'.

"Why not!?" She asked, surprised.

"Papa said I can buy new things, even a car in the Philippines, so why bother?" I said without irritation.

"Yeah, Grandpa told me that too, but why not bring anything at all?" She asked.

"I have my credit cards, passbooks, passport, and a bag with my personal stuff. Happy now?" I rolled my eyes at her.

I left my room untouched; I just can't bring myself to change it.

"What about your license?"

"You know I love getting on your nerves, sis. It's not working!" She laughed.

"It's not very polite to laugh out loud like that. Keep it down," I playfully scolded her.

"Bitch!" She mumbled.

"And hey, remember, you have to speak in Tagalog from now on!"

I started the engine and drove away from our house, too excited to go back to the Philippines.

At the Airport

"Ticket?" The lady in blue asked, so I handed her my ticket.

She looked like my neighbor with the non-stop talking habit, just like my sister.

What am I even saying?

As soon as I entered the plane, I spotted Grandpa, so I went straight to the vacant seat next to him.

"Papa," I greeted with a kiss on his cheek.

"Darling," he smiled.

"I'm really tired," I mouthed.

"I'm glad you're still a child at heart with me."

"Papa," I warned, and he laughed loudly, much like my sister had been doing lately. Other passengers noticed, but he didn't care.

"Excuse me, can I get one of those donut pillows for my granddaughter?" He asked the stewardess as she passed by, causing her to quickly turn around to face him.

"Yes, Sir," she smiled and excused herself.

"Put on your seatbelt now, Darling. I know you'll fall asleep deeply sooner or later, and I won't be able to buckle you up," Papa whispered with a chuckle.

"They're so cute."

"Look at them, dear. The old man has a great relationship with his granddaughter."

"I wish Grandfather treated me like that."

"You're smiling like a fool," my sister mouthed out of nowhere.

"Shut up."

"You left me behind, how dare you?" She rolled her eyes at me.

"How dare you leave me behind," she repeated.

"I dared because I'm Storm Lyn," I smirked.

"The Snob Bitch," she added.

"That's so cheesy," I cringed.
