"BEHAVE," Luke Reign said, his authoritative tone cutting through the air.
This guy really knows how to push my buttons.
I can still remember what happened yesterday. He had the audacity to kiss me out of nowhere.
"You brute," I spat, disgusted as I pushed him away.
His actions were infuriating. And now he was acting like it was no big deal.
"You don't find me attractive yes?" he questioned.
"Hell yes," I answered bluntly, wiping my lips with the back of my hand.
His self-confidence was exasperating. He acted like I couldn't resist him, when in reality, he repulsed me.
"Fine, let me flirt around then. You're not attracted to me, and you're disgusted by me, so let me be," he retorted, his words dripping with annoyance.
Did he really think I'm that disgusted by him? He makes me sound like an awful person
"What are you implying now?" I challenged.
"I'm a man with needs," he said matter-of-factly, and I rolled my eyes.
How can someone be so insufferable?
"Fuck it! If you aren't attracted to me, then at least let me kiss and hug you!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in frustration.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was just impossible.
"Let's get something straight: One, you're always hugging me. Two, we cuddled yesterday. Three, you often use my lap as a pillow. Four, you carry me around, and sometimes I can feel your... excitement. Five, why are you acting strange? Lastly, I don't want to kiss you, especially knowing where your tongue has probably been," I flicked his ears in irritation.
He had the audacity to insinuate that I was disgusted by him. While I was no fan of his, I wasn't that repulsed either. He just made it difficult to like him.
"I don't get you. Go away," I snapped, waving my hand dismissively.
He wasn't getting the message. He wouldn't leave me alone.
"Tsk, let me make it easy for you. Since you say you aren't attracted to me, let me at least kiss and hug you, so you'll eventually fall for me," he smirked, his arrogance shining through.
He just wouldn't quit.
"You better stop, Luke Reign. Stay away from me and stop with this nonsense," I demanded.
"Pumpkin, this isn't nonsense. I'm suggesting we play a game," he said, and I was honestly surprised by his seriousness.
I used to consider him a cool and silent type, but boy, was I wrong.
"Shall we?" he asked with a gleam in his eyes.
Ugh, this was getting old. When would he give up?
"If I play this game of yours, will you stop with this nonsense?" I asked in frustration.
"Nope," he replied unapologetically, popping the 'p' sound.
I was beginning to realize he wouldn't relent until I agreed to play along.
"Then go away. I can't understand you," I sighed, tired of his antics.
"Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin," he chanted childishly.
"When I say we're playing a game, you'll play whether you like it or not," he declared, his voice sounding like that of a stubborn child.
He had me cornered. I might as well agree, but I wasn't happy about it.
"Fine, fine! We'll play your game" I replied with a hint of frustration.
He was pushing all my buttons, and I couldn't just let him have his way.
"Alright, Pumpkin" he agreed with a mischievous glint in his eyes, telling me he'll explain the details the next day
Little did I know that agreeing to this game would lead to more complications and twists in our already confusing relationship.
I couldn't believe I had agreed to this ridiculous game he came up with. "Knowing what love is" – seriously? It sounded like something straight out of a cheesy romance novel.
"You're serious?" I asked incredulously.
"Yes, I am," he replied
"Everybody knows what love is, Reign," I stated, my patience wearing thin.
He paused for a moment before responding, "Well, I'm afraid to say you don't know what love is."
This guy was insufferable. His arrogance knew no bounds.
"Stop with this nonsense. I'll play your game if it isn't 'Knowing what Love is'," I declared, hoping to shift the focus to something more rational.
I expected board games, billiards, darts, or even car races, but then he surprised me with his proposal.
"Let's stick together, be with each other 24/7, and flirt with each other," he suggested with a devilish smirk.
The audacity of this man. Flirting? With him? The mere thought was revolting.
"In that case, one will fall for the other, and if you fall, you lose," he announced dramatically, like we were in some kind of soap opera.
"Fine, let's play your ridiculous game. It'll be my pleasure to see you lose," I retorted, swaying my hips and turning away from him.
I headed towards his room, only to find that he had moved my things there.
"What the hell" was all I've said- scanning the area, irritated.
"From now on, you're not going to sleep in your room. You'll be sleeping here, Pumpkin. Whether you like it or not, we are roommates," he explained, earning himself another glare from me.
I didn't want to share a room with him. I preferred things the way they were – distant and separate.
"Reign, I don't want to sleep here all the time," I complained, annoyed.
"We can still play your game, just don't overact. And cut out the 'stick together 24/7' nonsense," I suggested, rubbing my temples in frustration.
He walked towards the bed with a smirk, clearly amused
"Wanna join me?" I asked with faux innocence, patting the space beside me and meeting his eyes head-on.
"I'm cold," I whined with a pout, playing along.
"You're quite the player, huh?" he chuckled, walking closer.
"Let me warm my Pumpkin up," he said, lying down beside me and pulling me close by my waist.
For some reason, I felt a strange sense of comfort, and my eyelids started to feel heavy.
"Sleep well, Pumpkin," he murmured, and before I knew it, I was drifting off into an unexpected slumber.
