"READY FOR OUR NEXT LESSON?" my sister asked the moment she entered my room.
Her tone resembled that of a teacher.
"Yesterday, we covered Bitchy Hairstyles," she began.
"Now, it's time to learn about two Bitchy Styles," she added.
Bitchy Style 1: The Elegant
She describes how girls with an "Elegant Fashion" always stay on top of fashion trends.
"The Higher the Heel, The Tougher the Bitch" becomes her motto, indicating that confidence comes with tall heels.
Bitchy Style 2: The Negligent
My sister explains that this style adopts a more relaxed approach to fashion, giving off an
"I don't care" vibe. She emphasizes that a girl who wears sneakers truly embodies this attitude.
Done with her fashion lecture, she announces we're heading to the mall. I groan inwardly, already predicting an extensive shopping spree.
"Let's go, I'm happy with my outfit," I grabbed my car key.
"I'm ready," I confirmed.
"That's your version of ready? That's neither Elegant nor Negligent—it's just nerdy goody," she commented.
"We're visiting Chanel, Valentino, Prada, Gucci, Versace, Guess, Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana, Dior—"
"I got it, I got it," I cut her off to avoid the endless list.
"Change into something cool and elegant for shopping haute couture, accessories, jewelry, scents, leather goods, footwear, makeup, timepieces, skincare, and more," she listed.
"Enough," I stopped her from going on.
"What should I wear then? A black top and nude high-waist trousers? With white sandals?" I suggested.
"That's simple but whatever, go on and put your hair in a bun," she instructed.
I should've never asked for her opinion. Her disdain for my clothes triggers a familiar feeling of discomfort.
I'm uncomfortable in fitted tops; it feels like I'm not wearing anything.
"OKAY! TODAY'S LESSON IS ABOUT YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!" my sister's voice boomed.
"Take notes!"
Expression 1: The Disregard
She explains that when someone says something uninteresting or ridiculous, a "whatever" or "yeah" with an eye roll can convey disinterest perfectly.
Expression 2: The Slow Blink
My sister delves into the technique of the "Slow Blink." This expression involves blinking slowly and locking eyes with the person while discussing important matters. Apparently, it's meant to exude coolness and intimidation.
My sister emphasizes that body language and verbal tone go hand in hand. She provides an example of how a Snob Bitch would respond when a friend laments over a wrecked Lamborghini.
My mind briefly drifts to a time when Tyler saved me from bullying. He defended me when I faced a difficult situation and provided unwavering support.
"Someone like you doesn't belong here! Why are you even here?" Prim Beech, our Prom Queen, scorned me when I entered the gym. I left, but Tyler's ex-girlfriend halted me by grabbing my hair.
"You stole my boyfriend, you bitch!" she yelled, ready to slap me. Tyler intervened, stopping her.
"Leave her alone."
"T-Tyler..." she stammered.
"Stay away from her," he warned her fiercely.
He hugged me tightly, and I urged him to let go. He scanned me, worried.
"Are you hurt? Are you okay?" he asked with concern.
"Touch her, and you'll regret it."
"Listen up, bitch." my sister continues her lesson
"Yeah."
"Liar. Like I was saying," she rolled her eyes at me.
Realizing my distraction, my sister scolds me for not paying attention.
"To sweeten the words"
"Don't forget the dramatic tone and unapologetic smile. A Snob Bitch couldn't care less," she finished, heading toward the door.
"We'll continue tomorrow. Clearly, you're not listening," she stomped her feet, reminding me of the spoiled brat that she is with her long legs.
