"I should be the one apologizing, Tyler," I said, pulling away from his embrace.

I gently held his face, wiping away the tears from his cheek.

"I didn't listen to you. I judged you without knowing the truth. Now I'm ready to hear your side," I told him.

"During that time, I was with Trixie, the childhood friend I mentioned before. When I informed her that you were there, she said she wanted to test your trust and love for me. I questioned her motives, but she brushed it off, saying I should just go with it.

I had no clue she would kiss me as part of her challenge. When I noticed you leaving the restaurant, I intended to follow you, but she suggested I give you some space.

She thought that if you genuinely trusted me, you wouldn't assume I was cheating on you. That's what she said, and that's why I stayed, which turned out to be a huge mistake. I should have left and gone after you."

"I understand her perspective," I replied. "But her actions were disrespectful."

"She's genuinely sorry," Tyler explained.

"But it doesn't change the fact that she damaged our relationship, and you allowed it to happen."

"Storm"

"I'm sorry, I loved you but perhaps I was only drawn to the initial excitement."

"I'm sorry for hurting you too. It's my fault for not trusting you."

"Maybe we both lacked trust."

Tears still flowed down his cheeks.

I felt foolish for causing this pain to him.

"Tyler."

"There's no 'we' anymore, is there? Just you and me, as individuals," he smiled sadly.

"I suppose we're not meant to be."

"Hopefully, in another life, you'll let me love you again."

I kissed his cheek and embraced him. "Someone is waiting for you out there," I whispered.

Suddenly, a loud bang on the door startled us.

"The one who closed the door so aggressively must be feeling jealous. Be happy with him," Tyler said, loosening his grip.

Confused, I looked at him, but he just smiled.

"I need to go," he said softly.

"I'm taking Kaden with me," he continued, motioning to the person who had joined us.

"You two are leaving me again, aren't you?" I pouted.

"You were the one who left us first," Tyler pointed out, sensing the tension. He held my hand to ease the awkwardness.

"It's not like tha—" I began, but Tyler interrupted me with another hug.

"Take care."

"I will."

"What about me!?" Kaden suddenly appeared, joining our group.

"We missed you, Baby," Kaden said, pressing a kiss to my forehead as usual.

"Where are you guys heading?" I inquired.

"Searching for our true love," they said with a chuckle.

"Can I come?" I asked eagerly.

"No, stay here. This is where you belong," Tyler said with a wink.

"Exactly. Now go chase your true love. He's quite the character," Kaden sighed.

"Can you believe the number of death stares he gave me?!"

"Who?"

"The Luke guy"
