"Hey, (Y/N)!" A loud voice startles you out of your thoughts, "Kurapika couldn't make it today, so he sent me instead!" The tall man exclaims, pointing to himself with one hand, and carrying a briefcase in the other.
"Who are you again?"
The tall man slumps over a bit, looking defeated, "You don't remember me at all?"
You shake your head, "Sorry, I don't"
"Kurapika hasn't talked about me?" He wonders, pulling the recliner closer to the bed and plopping down in it.
"That depends." You start, "What's your name?"
He grins, looking happy again, "I guess I'll have to reintroduce myself," He stands up, dramatically, pointing to himself again, "My name's Leorio, and I'm one of your closest friends!"
You only look at him with a confused expression, causing his grin to drop again. "Sorry.."
"You really don't remember me at all?" He asks, a little bit of sadness in his voice. He plops back down, crossing his legs, "That's a problem. How should we fix it? Is there something I can do?"
You can tell by his voice that he's actually upset by this but trying to play it cool. Were we close? You wonder to yourself. "Kurapika usually tells me stories to help me remember things," You explain, a soft smile on your face, "Maybe if you tell me how we met, I'll remember."
"Really? Is that how you remembered Kurapika?" He asks with a finger on his chin.
You nod to the best of your abilities.
He notices this, and wonders, "Have you done any physical thereapy yet?"
"Ah, yes. We do a little bit in the mornings and before bed, but the nurses tell me to take it slow, if I want to recover fully." You explain, somewhat surprised that he would ask.
"As I thought.." The loud man says in a surprisingly quiet voice, "Oh! Are you ready to remember me, (Y/N)?"
"Of course."
"It all started when I was trying to help Gon and Killua get money for a game called Greed Island," He starts, only confusing you more. You decide not to interrupt him, though.
September first, Yorknew City. You read the note in your hand once again. You haven't seen any of your new friends at all, yet, so you continue to explore the city, hoping you'll bump into one of them. You watch your feet, as you walk down the sidewalk as to not make eye contact with strangers. After a few more steps, you find yourself bumping into someone's back. They turn around immediately, eyebrow raised, questioning, "Can I help you?"
You look at the large, muscular man, shaking your head, "Oh, sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Looking around the area, you see a large crowd gathered, mostly really muscular-looking men, "What's going on here?"
He points through the crowd, "Arm wrestling. They're giving anyone who can win a diamond worth three million jenny."
"Oh? Nobody's won yet? Who are you facing? A professional?" You wonder, trying to peak through the crowd to see everybody's opponent.
The guy shakes his head, "No, it's just some kid. Looks like he's finally getting tired though."
A sly smile creeps up on you as you wonder, "Do you think I have a chance?"
"Probably not. But I'd love to see you try. It's ten thousand jenny to face him. Why don't you go ahead?" He says, snickering mischeviously.
