Remember Me (Kurapika X Reader)

Part Fifteen

"Yo, Kurapika!" Leorio's voice calls as he walks through the door and into your room, "Woah, are you okay, buddy?"

Kurapika nods, "I am fine. Don't worry about me."

Leorio sighs, knowing his friend won't admit even if he isn't doing fine. He looks around the room, noticing you're missing at this current moment. "Where's (Y/N)?"

"Oh, she's taking a shower by herself right now." Kurapika starts, his tired face perking up, "Nova is with her in case she needs any help."

"That's great news!" Leorio plops down in the recliner next to the bed, "But, what's going on with you??"

Kurapika lets out a breath as his eyes fall on his friend, "(Y/N) was attacked last night."

"What???" Leorio asks in disbelief and concern, "Is she okay??"

He nods to this, "I was walking the halls of the hospital in search for her attacker. But when I returned to her room, she was collapsed on the floor with her daggers in hand. She said the attacker came in through the window, and when she went to defend herself, her legs gave out. The attacker only left when they heard me in the hallway."

"I should have been here," Comes Leorio's reply, "I'm sorry, Kurapika."

"Don't be." The blonde starts, "I can no longer sleep or take breaks in (Y/N)'s presence. It's too dangerous."

Leorio watches him worriedly, "Then what will you do?"

"For now, I will only take short naps while Gon, Killua, Alluka, and you are present. I trust you guys to protect her."

His tall friend nods at this, and points to himself excitedly, "You can count on us! But what about-

"Bennett?" Kurapika finishes his question for him, "I'd rather not sleep while he's present, but I don't think I have a choice. That's why I called in some back-up."

"Back-up?" Leorio pauses to give this some thought, "Who did you call in?"

A little bit later, you find yourself sitting up in bed, your legs hanging over the side. You swing them back and forth repeatedly, trying to make them feel less stiff. Gon sits next to you on the bed, watching you curiously.

"Why do you do that, (Y/N)?" He wonders, "Does it help?"

You shrug at this, "I don't know if it actually helps, but it's nice to be able to move them more."

Alluka sits on the other side of you, swinging her legs in time with yours, "I bet you'll be able to walk more soon, too!!"

Killua sits in the recliner next to your bed, but his eyes keep falling on Bennett, who sits in an extra chair you were able to borrow, on the opposite side of the bed. Bennett tries to shake off his hostile aura towards him, but he can't help but feel nervous. 

Gon completely ignores the tension between them, and turns towards, Bennett, wondering, "What was (Y/N) like when she was a kid?"

He perks up at this question, a smile forming on his face, "(Y/N) was playful and she wanted to be friends with everyone! But she could be serious when she wanted, and she was really smart. She acted more like an older sister, rather than a younger one."

"Really?!" Gon asks excitedly, "I wanna see what (Y/N) looked like when she was a kid!!"

"Oooh!" Alluka chimes in, "Me too!!"

Bennett lets out a chuckle, "I wish I could show you, but they aren't too big on cameras in NGL."

"Awwwe," Both Alluka and Gon complain in unison.
