Kurapika walks down the long halls of the hospital, contemplating what Leorio had told him when he returned from seeing (Y/N).
"She remembers me!" Leorio exclaims as he bursts into his close friend's office.
Kurapika stands from his desk, eyes shifting to a red tint, "She-she remembers you? What happened, Leorio?"
"I told her about when she found us in Yorknew City. Before we found you," The tall man explains now standing om the other side of Kurapika's desk, "She got really confused and had a fever, so I left her to rest."
"And?" Kurapika asks curiously, the palms of his hands resting on the mahogany desk.
"When I was about to leave, she asked how my doctor studies were going." He explains, happily, "I didn't tell her anything about that."
Kurapika tries to calm himself, sitting back down in his computer chair. He lets out a deep breath, "Tha-that's great. I'm so glad. All hope isn't lost then."
"Yeah, I thought you'd wanna hear that," Leorio explains. He watches his friend, asking, "How are you holding up, buddy?"
Kurapika sighs, unable to hide his emotions from someone who knows him so well, "I feel bad for not being able to see (Y/N) today, but I have to get this paperwork done." He looks back up at Leorio with a look of concern on his face, "How is she? She had a fever when you left?"
"Don't beat yourself up over it. Before I left the hospital, I let a nurse know about it." He explains.
"Thank you, Leorio, you're a good friend."
"So are you," Leorio starts, "You're taking good care of (Y/N)."
It's been three days since then. Both Kurapika and his friend were given quite a bit of work to do that was supposed to take a week. The determined Kurta finished it in less than half that time so he could visit (Y/N) again. Leorio hasn't finished even close to half of his work.
Kurapika turns a corner in the hallway, seeing (Y/N)'s room number at the end of the hall. As he's about to open the door, a nurse comes rushing out with an empty tray. "Oh, excuse me, sir," She says kindly as Kurapika moves out of the way for her. She's about to walk off, but Kurapika stops her by asking,
"You're (Y/N)'s nurse?"
She stops, and turns around to face the nicely dressed blonde boy. "Yes, I am. Are you a friend of hers?"
Kurapika nods, "How is she today?"
"She's making great strides since you last visited, especially in physically moving. It's not much, but she's getting there." The middle-aged nurse with the name tag 'Nova' explains.
"I'm really glad to hear that," Kurapika says with a slight grin, "My friend said she had a fever a few nights ago, did that bother her too much?"
Nova shakes her head, "We gave her some medicine and it took care of that right away. Though, lately, she's been complaining about nightmares. She says they happen as she's falling asleep. We call that 'Sleep Paralysis' I told her, but she wasn't sure it was that."
"Nightmares?" He wonders aloud, "Has the nen exorcist been in?"
"Yes, she came in yesterday, but she said there was no change in her condition. Sorry, sir. I think she left a more detailed note on her dresser."
Kurapika nods, "Thank you, Nova."
The nurse nods and takes off down the hall, leaving Kurapika to walk into your room alone. Your head snaps towards the door immediately, and you sit up to look at him,
