I stared in shock but then pulled Aiden away from his "dad" before he did anything stupid again and get arrested for it.

"Aiden! You're going to get yourself arrested." I whisper and force him away. That's when I see Mikayla, Carson, and Jason there. Why is she always hanging out with guys, I thought.

"I'm taking you back to your dorm." I say sternly and then Jason helps me drag him as Aiden stubbornly digs his heels on the ground.

Principal Parker is glaring at all of us with such hatred that it makes me flinch. He catches Mikayla's eye but Mikayla stares him down. She maintains her cool and doesn't flinch not once. I admire her for that because a glance at him makes me want to hide.

Then she retreats and falls into step with us as Carson follows. We walk all the way back to the gate and squeeze through. That's when Aiden flips out on us.

"Stop treating me like a kid! I'm just angry! Leave me alone! No don't try comforting me! Don't even try!" He states and yells as tears start falling down on me.

"No, don't you dare start crying. You're not the one who just found out who their true father is and a day later is almost killed!" He screeches. I flinch inward as he starts pacing and yelling some more accusations.

"Aiden, look at me. Look at me!" Mikayla demands. He stops and stares at her surprised.

"Okay, you need to calm down and shut the hell up." She says not too gently.

"And Lizlee, suck it up. Don't take it personal. He's going through a rough time so you have to understand what he's going through." She orders to me this time.

"Like you would know what going through a rough time is." I mumble. She ends up hearing and a flash of anger passes though her face.

"Actually I would. But don't mind me." She snaps and then walks away.

"Nice going, Lizlee. Go apologize." Jason orders.

"But-I don't want- fine!" I give in and then I go after Mikayla.

"What is this!? Another episode of Dr. Phil!?" Carson remarks and I roll my eyes. Aiden had sat down at one of the benches as he tried calming down. He would pull through. I know he would. Everyone does. I think.

"Mikayla. Wait up." I say as I grab her shoulder but she yanks away.

"Don't bother apologizing. I don't care." Mikayla immediately said not even letting me speak.

"But Jason made me c-" I cut off once she turned around and gave me an even scarier glare than principal Parker had. "I think I'll just go back." I say quietly and then run back to Aiden.

"She didn't let me apologize." I shrug and then sit down on the floor. Yeah, the floor. Aiden was hogging up the bench.

"I'll go." Carson said and then went after Mikayla.

~Mikayla~

As Carson catches up with me he doesn't even try prying me of answers. He doesn't ask anything. He's just there accompanying me. That's all I could ask for right now. As we get back to our dorm I ask Carson to use his laptop.

He allows me too so as I log in to my school accont I catch a heading on the school blog that catches my attention.

Ashamed of Your Own Family? The headline read. I scrolled down to the body and started reading.
