~Mikayla~
"Cooper, I have to get to class. You already made me ten minutes late. Just because principal Trevor knows about you doesn't mean he'll excuse me if I'm late." I explained to Cooper. He laid his head on his paws and whimpered. He had been in such a sad mood today.
"Please don't get sick on me." I pleaded, petting his little soft head. He whimpered sadly again and walked to snuggle next to me.
"You know how cute you are? You make me feel all nice and bubbly inside. I don't feel like that." I told Cooper teasingly. He wagged his little tail and stretched his front two paws on my knee.
He ran--and slipped on the way--to get his chew toy and came back to me. He put it on my palm and I threw it, trying to leave for class.
"Down, Cooper." I commanded gently. He stopped running and dropped the toy and sat down, waiting for his next command. Over the past few days, I had been teaching him a few tricks here and then. So had Carson and Jason.
Cooper loved them both--he loved me the most though.
"Go hide now." I ordered and stood up. I started walking to the door but Cooper only ran to my legs and nibbled my pants trying to make me to stay.
"What's up with you today? You're acting strange." I commented. Yeah, I talk to my dogs but they understand in a way. It's comforting. Dogs are the only animals I trust completely. At least my dogs I do.
"Cooper, I'm serious. I have to get to class. I'm already late." I explained. Still, Cooper was persistent for such a young pup. I wondered how big he would grow up to be. He was a husky after all.
I heard the first bell ring and I cursed under my breath. Now I couldn't miss my second period. I stood up and opened the door.
"Cooper, go hide now." I ordered now serious. He tucked his tail in between and went to his little hideout.
"I'm sorry." I whispered and closed the door. I started running down the halls so I wouldn't miss second period. I continued running until she crashed into two figures.
"Dammit!" I yelled until she saw Carson and Jason staring down at me worryingly.
"Have you been here all morning?" Carson asked me.
"Yes, why?" I stared back confused.
"You haven't heard have you?" Jason commented sadly.
"What are you guy's talking about?" They ignored me though. "Maybe you should take the day off." They said instead.
"You guys are acting strange but I'm getting to class. We have two weeks left before the year ends and I can't keep missing class. I've missed enough." I tell them and start walking out of the body.
"No really, you should just go back to the dorm." Carson suggested. I stopped walking and turned to them, observing them. "What's going on?" I asked them through gritted teeth.
"I don't want to be the one to tell you. If you really want to find out, then fine." Jason told me. I stared back with a puzzled expression but left the building.
"No wonder she's so untrustworthy." I heard Carson comment. I winced and wondered what he was talking about. Memories of two years ago came rushing back. I shook them away though and walked to school.
The minute I entered the hallways of school, every pair of eyes was on me. I looked around confused and then back at Jason and Carson. They gave me a sympathetic smile which only made me angry. I didn't want anyone's sympathy.
