"Where are we going?" Jacob asked while we took the bus. I could drive but I wanted to walk around and go on the bus. Either way, we were one of the few people on there. I looked at him from my seat next to the window and grinned.
"You'll see. It's a few hours away from my house but it'll be worth it. Meanwhile, enjoy sightseeing of California." I tell him, looking back out the window.
"Ugh, fine. I see it's a secret." He teased and went back to lookng out the window as well.
I had taken him all morning out to see my small town but now that noon hit, I was taking him somewhere else. I was sure he would love it.

"Wow, this looks just like it does in the movies!" Jacob exclaimed, looking at the ferris wheel in front of him. I laughed and shrugged. "I've been here a couple of times when I was younger." I told him.
"But this is Santa Monica Pier! I never thought I'd actually ever come to it!" Jacob told me, looking as excited as a little kid would.
"Come on! You're too slow!" He yelled and then dragged me to one of the rollercoasters, making a beeline for it. I rolled my eyes and shrugged. "Fine, we'll go on the rollercoaster but then we're going to the ferris wheel.
"Deal." He said and with that we waited in line for the rollercoaster. Finally after a while, we got on the ferris wheel and were just enjoying the view now.
"Are you worried about next year?" Jacob asked me, the nightly breeze hitting our way while the ferris wheel spun slowly.
"No. Should I be?" I asked him. "Well I mean with Aiden." He admitted, smiling shyly. I sighed and looked at the setting sun.
"All I know is I'm done with him and I never want to talk to him." I say, waving it away since I no longer wanted to talk about it.
"Good, cause I never liked him anyways." Jacob joked and then leaned in to kiss me.
I held my hand up though, stopping him. "Just cause we're on a ferris wheel, on the top, doesn't mean you can kiss me. We're still friends, remember?" I reminded him.
"Right. Friends." He nodded, pulling back and forcing a smile.
"Look, I do like you, I always have but after what Aiden did, I just want to stay friends for now." I reassured, putting an assuring hand on his arm.
"For now." He grinned and I rolled my eyes.
"You'll never change."

"Is that Lizlee and Jacob?" I asked Jason, looking at the people on the ferris wheel. We had decided to go to the Santa Monica Pier as our 'date'.
"Sure is. Lizlee told me she was coming with Jacob." Jason said with a shrug. I smacked his shoulder and glared at him.
"And you didn't tell me?!" I scowled. "Ow!" He exclaimed, holding his shoulder. "I didn't think it was important." He told me carelessly. "I don't think she knows we're here though."
"It is important! Lizlee may know about us now but doesn't mean Jacob needs to know! If he knows then when we get back to school, he'll tell Carson and I really don't want that. He's gonna think I left him cause I never liked him and only liked you." I told him, trying to move away from the ferris wheel. I walked to the very edge and stared out to the beach instead.
"Why do you think he'll assume that?" Jason asked, coming besides me. "When I dated him, I learned a thing or two." I reply, really hoping Lizlee and Jacob wouldn't find us here. Jason didn't respond and instead just watched the waves crash onto the shore and rocks.
