Its laser was set on my heart, it actually felt pretty warm, yet it was painful. I pointed the tip of the arrow at its now glowing red 'eye' and pulled back the string. The laser on my chest disappeared, but right before it could end me, I released the arrow.

The Guardian made a loud screeching noise as it literally exploded. My knees dropped to the dirty ground and my whole body was shaking.

"So, this was my first task..."

Your POV

I've never been that scared in my life... I think. I honestly can't remember who I really am.

Sighing in relief, I stood up and made my way to Link's bruised body, the sight of this made my heart crack a little and I felt guilty a lot. If I only didn't yell at him, it wouldn't have happened... But, if this voice didn't give me this ancient arrow, we would be dead by now.

There's still something bothering me about this whole thing, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

Link groaned and clutched his head with his left hand, his stomach with his other one. I gasped and looked for something to heal him, but all I found was a pot near the huge Bokoblin hill. I didn't have any weapons to fight these monsters, but I was luckily good with herbs and their effects and even found some Hyrule Grass near a cliff, so I quickly grabbed them and ran back to Link.

He munched on them and slowly opened his eyes, which made me sigh in happiness. I smiled as I saw the confusion in his eyes,

"W-what happened to the guardian?"

I looked down and fiddled with my thumbs, "Well... uh.."

'Should I lie or say the truth? I don't know what to say... If I lie, he would probably think I'm insane. But, wouldn't he think exact the same if I tell him the truth?! ARRRGH WHY IS THIS SO COMPLICATED?! WAIT! I know!'

"I ate it."

...

Silence.

...

"..."

"...uh"

"WHAT?!"

Link looked disgusted, no, TERRIFIED and IMPLAUSIBLE at the same time.
I internally screamed and was now questioning my whole existence and how I should be able to help Link save Hyrule.

"You're funny, (Y/N)"
Link was now laughing and rolling on the grass. He wiped away the small tear that was created by joy. As he stopped, he immediately sat up and looked at me.

Suddenly, my eyes widened as he showed me his true, bright smile,
"You made the pain go away, thank you."

Even though I want to get buried alive out of embarrassment, I couldn't help but feel happy at this moment.

It feels great to know that you can actually brighten someone's day by saying things - whether they make sense or not - even though they are in pain or feeling upset. And it made me even happier to know that I can make him laugh that easily.
