Chapter Twenty-Six

Kyla

So I guess my plan to leave Terran so he could find Ashton didn't work. At all. I was pretty sure this couldn't get much worse.

"Now why don't you just sit down in the corner with your girlfriend," the boy who was holding Kyla said.

"I'm not his girlfriend," I muttered again. Just because Terran came and told them to let me go doesn't mean that I have to be the girlfriend of the hero. Of course, the boy holding me tightened his grip again, making me cry out in pain.

"Why?" Terran challenged, I noticed his eyes flicking back and forth between me and the boys, seemingly worried.

"Because we can hurt her if you don't." To prove his point, the boy twisted my hair. My eyes watered. I could've made no noise, but I sensed that if I didn't, they would do it harder. That didn't sound fun, so I cried out in pain.

Terran worked his jaw, trying to control himself. "Fine," he ground out. Terran stalked toward the corner, but as he passed the boy who was holding me, he threw a punch at the boy's head. It made contact, and he staggered away, pulling my hair until he hit the ground. Terran quickly turned around to face the other boys.

"Leave and you won't get hurt," he growled.

The other boys looked at each other then at Terran. "It's two against one. If you cooperate then you won't get hurt," one of them smirked.

From behind Terran, I was terrified and shaking. "Just leave us alone, please. No one else should get hurt. All of us should be trying to stay alive, not killing each other. We'll go if you want to stay here."

"Whatever. We'll just take our friend and leave," the other boy said, seeing that Terran would not back down.

I stayed where I was, still shaking as I watched the boys carry their comrade out of the run down building and out into the cold night.

Terran turned to face me as soon as he couldn't see the boys anymore. "Are you okay, Kyla?"

I nodded. I guess I'd have to leave him tonight. So much for a good night's sleep. I thought quickly. "Thanks. We should probably get some sleep." I made sure to lay closer to the door and a couple of feet away from Terran.

In a few minutes, Terran was asleep. I stayed there for a few more minutes to make sure he was sleeping, then stood up and slowly walked to the door, so as to not wake Terran. In a few minutes, I was out of the building, and again running away from Terran so he could find Ashton. And so I wouldn't slow him down.

Aw yah!!! Wait, what was I cheering for, you ask? Well, I ship Kyla+Terran WAAAAYYYY too much. 😏
