Chapter Thirty-Six

This was not working very well. Terran took about two steps forward and then swayed uncertainly. I quickly stepped forward to prop him up somewhat, and he glared at me, "I'm fine." he growled.
I rolled my eyes, "You're about as fine as an extremely frostbitten dude who has been attacked by a large wolf and then stuck in sweltering weather." I pretended to pause and think for a moment, "Oh wait, that's exactly what you've been through. So just let. Me. Help."
I could tell there was an internal struggle going on inside of him, and I wondered if he actually would let me help. Finally, he grit out, "Fine."
"Okay, then. Kyla, lead the way to the magical pool of water." I propped Terran up so that he could lean on me.
Kyla hesitated, "Well, I think there is one."
"Well, there'd better be one."
She rolled her eyes, "Well, don't plan on it."
"Well--" I began.
"Just shut up and go." Terran interrupted, clearly annoyed.
I shot a glare at Kyla and mouthed, "Well, we better go see anyway." She let out an exasperated sigh, but began walking towards the apple tree that she had apparently found earlier.
The tree eventually came into sight, and ordinarily we would have increased her pace, but with Terran we were just trying to keep going.
After setting Terran down in the shade of the apple tree, Kyla explained, "There must be some type of pool or river nearby to keep the tree alive." I nodded once, and we both scouted around the area.
Quickly, I located the water source, which was a small pool, and called Kyla over. While she was coming over, I took my shirt off and jumped into the pool. I found out that it was a lot deeper than I expected. Fortunately, I knew how to swim, so I quickly swam up to the surface, grinning.
"It's really deep." I announced. A flash of fear crossed Kyla's face, and she took quick steps backwards. Weird. I shrugged and paddled over to land, climbing out.
Dripping, I went over to Terran. Now it was time to clean his battle wound.
Battle wound XD hehehe, sorry that just struck me as really funny for some reason.
Okay I'm done now.
