After saying a silent prayer, Richard slowly opened the front door with his key. Looking from the outside, there's light inside so that means she's still here.

The living room is dark save for a small spotlight lighting what will be a display area of sorts. He went straight to the kitchen where she found Maine staring down at her phone. Tinitingnan kaya niya kung pa'no lalagyan ng sungay ang picture ko?

"Umuwi ka pa." This doesn't bode well.

He put on the most angelic expression that he can project. "Mahal, let me explain. But first, yellow flowers for you. Your favorite color. Sorry na?" He approached to kiss her but she turned her face aside so the kiss landed on her cheek.

After a few moment of silence, ayan na. "Yung dinner, nakakain yan kaya lang malamig na. Yung flowers hindi....... You could have texted kung nasaan ka or malapit ka na. Na hindi ka naaksidente, na-delay ka lang. Alam mong mabilis akong mag-alala. Kaso wala eh." She was already teary-eyed but still calm. Halatang nagpipigil.

He stayed quiet. Explanations will be futile now. Then he knelt down beside her chair. "I also bought Ramen, your favorite."

"If you think bringing me flowers and ramen will make it alright, wrong mistake again. Kung yung time na idinaan mo sa flowershop at ramenplace e nagbiyahe ka na lang pauwi, much better pa siguro."

Maine stood up to leave but Richard stopped her, hugged her from behind and nuzzled her neck. She did not move so there's still hope. "Please, mahal. Sorry na. Ang tanga lang kasi ng asawa mo at hindi tumitingin sa orasan. Nag-extend lang meeting namin ni Tope and I forgot to tell you."

Maine smelled his breath. "Kumain ka na no? Itabi mo na lang yang food sa ref. I'm going home."

"NO! Please, this is now your home. And it's just sandwich. I'll eat again. I have big appetite. Kahit malamig, one of the reasons kaya ginawa microwave oven e pang-init ng food diba? Upo ka na lang, akong bahala. Mahal, please. Diba hindi pa naman ako strike-out? Strike two pa lang."

The dam broke. "Kasi it hurts e! Alam mo yun? Yung nag-effort ka na aralin ang isang favorite dish ng asawa mo, tumawag ka pa sa biyenan mo para magpaturo. All because gusto mong mag-sorry at pinakialaman mo yung gamit niya sa table? Tapos... tapos... Alam mo ba na dalawang palengke pa pinuntahan ko makahanap lang ng murang dahon ng sampalok? Na muntik pang mahiwa daliri ko sa paghiwa niyan? Tapos para kong tangang naghihintay sa wala? Ni walang pakialam na hindi pa rin ako kumakain? Wala man lang paalam? Alam mo aso't pusa lang ang hindi nagpapaalam e. Konting respeto naman!"

He went in front of her to face her. Richard took her hand and placed it on his cheeks. "Sige, ano'ng gusto mong gawin? Sampalin mo na ko, magkabilang pisngi pa.
