Tita Terrie glared at her older brother. "Yun ba pinagsisistimyento-de-asukal mo? Na huli mong nalaman? Tapos, kung makasuntok ka, walang pasabi? Hindi mo ba alam na kagagaling lang nyan sa sakit?"

Maine helped Richard up and had him sit down, and stayed by his side. This scene was not lost to her father who turned to face them.

"Huwag kang makialam Teresita! Nicomaine! Hindi kita pinigilan na umalis sa poder ko, tapos ito ang mangyayari? Sagutin n'yo ang tanong ko, totoo ba ang nabalita na kasal kayo? The news is even saying that they have evidence to prove it."

Sensing the growing anger of her brother, Tita Terrie now tries to pacify him. "Kalma, kuya. Look, they were also surprised."

"Surprised? Anong kalokohan 'to? Don't tell me they don't know that they're married to each other? Ano to, lokohan? And I'm not asking you, Teresita. Saka, diba nasa Amerika ka na? Why are you here?"

"Bakit, hindi ba ko puwedeng lumipad, dumapo sa puno ng giant seqouia at lumipad at dumapo ulit sa puno ng narra dito? Mayaman ako, may MabuhayMiles at SkyMiles ako."

"You know what? Ever since you came, it's like I don't know my own daughter anymore."

Maine knows that she has to speak up. She was about to, when Richard stopped her and stood up. "Sir, ako na lang po magpapaliwanag."

Daddy V turned to Richard in rage. "IKAW!! I TRUSTED YOU!"

Richard maintained his determined stance against the old man. "And I did nothing to betray that trust, sir. If you're waiting for us to say sorry for being married, you'll not hear it from me. Naging mix-up po ang pagpapakasal namin ng anak n'yo almost two years ago, pero totoo po kung anuman ang nararamdaman namin para sa isa't isa."

"TWO YEARS AGO? Did I hear it right? This happened almost two years ago? Ganong katagal n'yo ko pinaikot? At anong sinasabi mo na totoo ang nararamdaman mo? Why, because you know she's my daughter? Nicomaine, uuwi tayo ngayon din!"

"Daddy, don't go there. Please. Don't insult his honor. Believe me, you'll just make him angry and I don't want to lose my husband. It's my fault. Ako po ang may pakana ng lahat and he just went along with it. For once ,sana makinig naman po kayo. Kulang-kulang ang details na alam n'yo."

"See Kuya Vicente? Sabi sa 'yo, kulang ang alam mo. Ang galing ko no? Tuloy n'yo mga pamangkins."

Seeing that he's outnumbered and that his daughter will not back down by the look in her eyes, Daddy V just walked over to the window and prepared to hear whatever they will tell him. Maine and Richard followed him.
