Chapter 11

Cameron
I got nervous as I stood outside my mothers door, about to tell her about my problem. I took a deep breath before opening her door.
"Can we talk? Please." She turned her tv down and scooted over in her bed. I shut the doors behind me before walking over to her bed and climbing in. I cuddled under her and she smiled.
"Why you warming up to me huh? What do you want?" I looked down.
"I want to apologize. I treated you terribly and that's not the way I should've been treating my own mother. I'm sorry and I love you." I said and she kissed my cheek softly.
"I accept your apology. I love you too baby girl." I sighed knowing what I had to tell her next.
"There's something else. I know you're going to be disappointed but you deserve to know." I said and she nodded.
"It started about two years ago. The older girls at the orphanage would make fun of me because of my weight and my dad. They all knew my story. They'd call my dad a druggie and try to get me upset, which they always did. So I started eating less and cutting. I relapsed and I cut because I got upset at myself. Whenever I get frustrated I do it. I'm sorry." I said and I looked up at my mom slowly and she didn't say a word.
"It's been going on this long and you didn't say anything. When were you planning on telling me?" I shrugged.
"I don't know. It's hard telling others my feelings." I said and she nodded.
"Well I just wanna let you know that you're beautiful. Inside and out. You should've told me from the start." She said and I nodded.
"I know. I promise I won't hide anything else." I said holding out my pinkie. We interlocked our pinkies making a promise. I heard little knocks on the door and I got up because I knew it was Kaylin. She ran into the room and tried climbing on the bed. My mom helped her up and Kaylin immediately snuggled under her. I smiled and looked at Kaylin.
"You took my spot Kay." I said attacking her face with kisses and she smiled.
"Sooo, when is grandma coming to meet Kay?" I asked and she sighed.
"I think I might fly her out here next week for Kaylin's birthday." I nodded. I watched my mom get out of bed with Kaylin in her arms.
"Come on Cameron. Let's go to the kitchen." She said and I followed her.
"You want some fruit babies?" She asked me and Kaylin.
"Yeah. I want strawberries. And kiwi." I said and she nodded getting out the fruit cutting it all up.
"I'm putting it all on the same plate. Make sure she doesn't make a mess or eat too much kiwi." I nodded.
"Do you want to go out today?" My mom asked and I nodded.
"Sure" I said and she nodded smiling. She walked over to me and gave me the plate. I sat Kaylin on the island and stood in front of her so we could eat the fruit together.
"Where's Kellise?" My mom asked and I shrugged.
"I think she's still sleep. But I'll wake her up to decide where we want to go tonight." I said and my mom nodded. I put a piece of kiwi by Kaylin's mouth and she bit some and smiled.
"She loves sweet stuff." My mom said giggling.
"Can we go to a pizza place?" I asked as I gave Kaylin some more fruit.
"Sure. Just agree on something with Kel okay?" I nodded and looked at Kaylin squishing kiwi in her hands.
"Ughhh. Mom give her a bath before we go. Take her." I said and my mom laughed taking Kaylin off the island placing her on the floor and she walked to my mom.
"Come on sticky hands. Let's get you washed up." My mom said walking her upstairs.
Nicki
"Okay. You girls decided on pizza right?" I said starting the engine.
"Yes, auntie." She said looking on her phone. She put her hand over her mouth and started to tear up.
"Baby you okay?" I asked glancing at her.
"I'm amazing. I-I..." she started to cry and I didn't know what was wrong.
"Baby. What's the matter? Please talk." I said and she fanned her face.
"My boyfriend of two years. Is moving here with his family. It's sound like nothing but he's been there for me through thick and thin. Those times when I would be scared to sleep in my own home he would take me to his house and I'd sleep there in his arms. I truly love him." She said and I smiled.
"Well, I want to meet him and we have A LOT to discuss when we get home." I explained and she nodded.
"Kel stop crying. It's kinda making me sad even thought you're not, you look sad though." Cameron said and Kellise nodded.
"Ok Cameron." She said laughing a little while wiping her tears. I got nervous about Kellise dating because she's at that age where she has to make decisions about sex, and I don't want her to make the same mistakes I did. I need to meet this boy and talk to them both.
