Cameron "Uncle Jelani. Can I sit next to you?" I asked and Caiah got up going to the other booth. "Don't you want to sit next to your mom? Where is she anyways?" He asked and I shrugged. "She's outside I guess. She'll be here in just a minute." I told him and he nodded and went on his phone and I did the same. A couple minutes later, my mom came in. "Hey, sorry I uh... had to take a phone call." She said sitting down next to Caiah. "Cameron I-" my mom said but I didn't feel like talking to her "What kind of pizza did you order uncle?" I asked, trying to avoid talking to her. "Sausage and pepperoni. And a small veggie one for your mom." He answered and I nodded. "Nic take them sunglasses off." Caiah said and she shook her head no. Then he snatched her shades off and her eyes were red and puffy. I felt bad but pretended not to. "You asshole." She said to Caiah putting her shades back on. "Have you been crying Nic?" He asked and she shook her head no. "I'm just tired." She said and before Caiah could ask anymore questions the food came. We ate and talked a little but the vibe was too weird. ••• "Alright y'all have a good night." Jelani said as my mom and I got in the front seat. We waved goodbye and left to the hotel. We checked in and went into our suite.

Nicki "Ma this is amazing. It looks so nice." Cameron said and I went in the bathroom and started taking my makeup off. "I'm sorry about my attitude earlier." She said and she gave me a hug and I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her forehead. "I couldn't stay mad my baby girl." I said and let out of the hug. We got ready for bed and laid down. Cameron got up and charged her phone. "Mommy?" She asked climbing in bed next to me. "Yes honey." She snuggled up under me and I held her. "I wanna see your mom again tomorrow because maybe this time she'll like me." Cameron said sadly but optimistic. "No I don't want you over there because she'll say something rude and uncalled for and I don't want you getting upset." I said and she sighed. "No I won't get upset. I love her and I know she loves me but she just doesn't know it yet." She said and I sighed. "Okay we'll go. But if she says anything, I mean anything rude we're leaving." I said and she nodded and kissed my cheek and cuddled under me going to sleep. ••• Cameron "Mom lets go in, I'm ready." I said and she nodded. I went up to the door and knocked. The door opened and I smiled at my grandmother. "Hey, uh tomorrow is our last day in New York and I just wanted to come by to see you." I said and she nodded. "Come in." She said and I smiled and my mom followed behind me into the house. "I just wanted to say, I'm sorry Cameron. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. It's just that... you know when your sister passed and then you got adopted and everything was happening so fast. I was overwhelmed and I was wrong." She said and I smiled and hugged her. "I already forgave you. I love you Ms. Mar-" "Call me grandma and I love you too sweetie." She said and I pulled out the hug and looked back at my mom smiling. "I'm sorry Nika, for everything." She said looking at my mom. "Its okay. But I have to tell you two something. But first where is Caiah and Jelani?" I asked and my mother walked to the kitchen. "Jelani is at home and Caiah is out with his girlfriend." My mouth dropped when I heard the word girlfriend. "Mom! When was I going to be informed about this girlfriend of his?" I asked and she giggled. "She's a nice girl. Ive had her over for dinner a couple times." She said and I nodded letting the situation go. "So what I wanted to tell you was. I finalized the adoption papers for my other daughter, Kaylin. I worked on adopting her at the same time as Cameron but her grandmother is dying and she wanted to spend her last couple of weeks with her so I couldn't get her sooner. But I'm picking her up when we get back to Atlanta." I said and they were both surprised. "And you just now telling me this? I thought you would never hide anything from me?" Cameron said and I sighed. "I wanted to spend time with you first and get you comfortable with me then I would've told you." I said and I could tell she was still upset and she looked the opposite direction from me. "Onika, I don't think your ready for two children. But of course I'm going to support you. How old is Kaylin?" My mom asked. "She going to be two next month on the 31st." I said and my mom smiled. "So she's a little something huh?" I nodded and giggled. I heard Cameron sigh. "Cameron." I said and she ignored me. "Grandma can I have a cookie?" She said eyeing the jar. "Yep help your self honey." She said and Cameron got up and sat at the island. "You should talk to her Nika." My mom said and I nodded walking over to her. I walked into the kitchen and she was sitting at the island breaking up a cookie and eating it piece by piece. "Let me tell you something." I said holding on to her hand and she sighed. "What now?" She asked and I tried to smile at her. "You should be happy. Your going to be a big sister. Kaylin is a one year old, so she's going to follow you around and look up to you. So when she comes of course she's going to be a little uncomfortable at first, so I want you to make her comfortable." I said and Cameron looked down and nodded. "She might not even like me." Cameron said and I walked to her and kissed her forehead. "She's going to love you, trust me. You're her big sister. Also she's very cute, you'll be attached to her when you meet her." I said and I rubbed her back. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier." I said and she nodded and hugged me. "So when is she coming home?" She asked. "The day after we leave here."
