Chapter 13

Nicki (1 week later)
Kellise still isn't talking to me. I can't blame her though. I have betrayed her trust a lot in the past. She hasn't been doing well. She cries and screams sometimes in the middle of the night, she screamed once or twice. She doesn't want to be around me at all, she tries to avoid talking to me as best as she can. She doesn't eat dinner with us anymore either she always eats in her room. I just want her back to normal.
I was in the kitchen making dinner when Kellise came in and walked straight back out.
"Hey wait. Please." I said. She turned around. I noticed that she lost a little weight.
"Hhhmmm?" She said. I guess she caught me staring.
"Help me cook. Tell me what this needs." I said giving her a spoon, I put my hand under it and held it to her mouth.
"No thanks I'm tired I wanna take a nap." She said stepping back.
"Dinners all ready, just get the kids ok." She nodded. A couple minutes later she was holding Kaylin coming down the stairs with Cameron trailing behind. Kellise looked so drowsy I didn't want her to accidentally drop my baby. I went and took Kaylin out her arms and kissed her.
"Hey honey." I said to Kaylin and she smiled. Kellise held on to the counter.
"Kel you okay?" Cameron asked as I sat Kaylin in her high chair. I glanced back and saw Kellise just out of breath. I ran to her and rubbed her back.
"You ok? What's wrong?" I asked and she fell backwards and I caught her right before she hit the ground.
"Mommy what's wrong with her? What's going on?" Cameron said.
"Baby come on now." I hit her cheek numerous times. I pulled her to my chest and checked for her pulse she had one and woke up breathing hard.
"I'm sorry. I'm okay." She said trying to get up fast but stumbled.
"Hey, honey sit down." I said and she went over to Kaylin and put on her bib.
"You ready to eat?" She asked Kaylin, with a smile on her face.
"Yes" Kaylin answered giggling. Kellise was about to make her way upstairs.
"No, we're going to the hospital. Cameron get her Nike shoes and jacket. Kellise sit down now." I said and they both did as told. I put some mashed potatoes and peas on Kaylin's plate and gave her a spoon but she decided she wanted to eat with her hands. Kellise was quiet and looked down.
"I don't think I need to go to the doctors. I just need to lay down. Please let me lay down." I sighed and thought about it.
"But you passed out babe. I just want to get it checked out." I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Well if you take me to the hospital can I see my boyfriend later." She asked and I thought for a while.
"He's here today right?" She nodded.
"Ok well then... yes but it has to be here. He can come for dinner tomorrow night." I said and she smiled which caused me to smile too because she hasn't smiled in a while. Cameron came down. She gave Kellise her stuff.
"Ok give me five minutes." I said and tried to feed Kaylin some more so we could go.
"Here baby let mommy help you." I said grabbing the spoon and I feed her some mashed potatoes. She was almost done until she started refusing it. I cleaned her face off and took her out the high chair.
"Juice mama" she said and I poured her some apple juice with water in it.
"Here baby." I said before quickly going upstairs to get ready. Once I was ready I got Kaylin in the car and strapped in. Then made sure the girls were in the car and ready to go. I called the doctor and made sure they knew we were coming in twenty minutes.

"I really don't wanna be here this is so embarrassing." Kellise said to me as I rocked Kaylin who was sitting in my lap, leaned up against my chest sleeping since she fell asleep in the car.
"Well she tested negative for anemia. Is she eating ok?" The doctor asked checking her clipboard.
"Well she eats in her room so she can answer that." I said looking at Kellise.
"I eat well everyday." She said and the doctor gave her a look.
"You know you have to tell us the truth because unhealthy eating habits can take a toll on your life." The doctor said and Kellise looked down nodding.
"Can I talk to you for a minute Ms.Maraj?" The doctor asked and I laid Kaylin in Cameron's arms before going out into the hall with the doctor.
"When we took the blood work. It shows that she hasn't eaten in a while. A dangerous amount of time to go without food. The eating in her room away from everyone else is a huge sign." The doctor said and I sighed.
"We haven't seen eye to eye for a while so I just thought that she didn't want to be around me. I did not know she was doing this. I thought she loved the way she looks " I said and the doctor nodded
"Well sometimes it's not body image, but more of a self punishment. Here I have a specialist she can see. This woman is great with adolescents. The best in town." She said and I nodded taking the card.
"Thank you." I said and the doctor and I walked back into the room.
"Ok. Ms.Kellise. How's your sleeping been? Have you been getting eight hours?" The doctor asked and Kellise shook her head.
"No. I wake up in the middle of the night often." She answered and the doctor nodded.
"Well the fainting was caused by lack of sleep and malnutrition." The doctor said looking at us both.
"I want you to eat a small meal before going to bed tonight and if you're having trouble sleeping tonight then try using melatonin, it's a effective all natural sleep aid." The doctor said and Kellise nodded.
"Thank you." I said and the doctor nodded.
"You're welcome. You all have a good night and get the little one home and in bed she's such a cutie." The doctor commented and I smiled.
"I will and you have a good night too."
Kellise
"So you've been trying to starve yourself to death?! You lied to me! You didn't eat in a week Kellise!" Nicki yelled at me.
"You're going to wake Kaylin. She's sleeping." I said nonchalantly as I changed my clothes. I sat down on the bed and put my hair in a ponytail.
"Answer me! Why are you doing this?" She said grabbing my arm tightly, making me look at her.
"Don't yell at me." I said. I stared into her eyes to notice they looked like my dads. I scooted back.
"I-I need sleep." I said not breaking the gaze.
"Wait I'm sorry sweetheart. I'm so sorry. But can we please talk about this?" She said and I shook my head quickly looking down. I could see my dads cold eyes in her and I didn't realize I was crying until she wiped my tear and held me.
"It- it's not you. I see him..." I said looking at her.
"You see who?" She asked gently, sitting next to me.
"My dad. I'm scared." I said. She rubbed my back and I got mad.
"Everything's gonna be oka-"
"Get out! Leave me alone! I'm really getting annoyed by you." I said, cutting her off and she looked at me like I was crazy.
"I understand you're upset. Get some rest. You have to get up early tomorrow morning." She said placing a kiss on my cheek before leaving.
