"You have to wait till you get home baby" I said looking over at Kellise as she spazzed her new iPhone 7 plus. I had to get her a phone because the one she had wouldn't work here in Atlanta.
Once we got to the house she got out the car and opened my door.
"I have to open this!" She said and I laughed.
"Okay I'll open the door. Get Kaylin out the car." I said and Kellise put the phone box in her purse and took Kaylin out the car. Cameron was too busy on Instagram to notice anything. I laughed to myself. When I opened the door Kellise gave me Kaylin and ran to the kitchen table. I walked to the kitchen and put Kaylin down.
"What do you girls want for dinner?" I asked and both the girls didn't answer because they we're both into their phones so I looked down at Kaylin.
"What you want for dinner?" I asked and she stared at me. I shook my head and went to the freezer.
"I have some pizza! Y'all want that?!" I yelled to the dining room.
"Yeah that's good auntie, thanks." Kellise said still not paying attention to me.
"Ok pizza it is then." I took out the pizza and preheated the oven. I went over to the girls and smiled.
"So... you girls going to be into your phones all day or talk to me?" I asked and Kellise looked up at me.
"I'm sorry auntie." She said and I half smiled.
"Oh it's alright. I just don't want your faces in those phones all night. That's all." I heard a thump and Kaylin start wailing. I got up and ran over to the living room. She was sitting on her butt on the floor. I picked her up and she laid her head on my shoulder.
"You're okay baby, Mommy's here." I said rubbing her back. Kellise looked and me with a sad expression and went upstairs. I sighed and kept on rubbing my baby's back.
"Cameron, go check on Kellise and tell her I'll be there in a minute." She put her phone down and ran upstairs.
"You're Mommy's little clumsy baby huh?" I asked and she giggled. I shook my head and laughed.
"You want juice?" I asked and she clapped her hands.
"Wes!" She said and I nodded. I went to the fridge and got some apple juice and watered it down then gave her a sippy cup. I put her on the couch and turned on the tv. I put the pizza in the oven.
"Mom!" I heard Cameron call.
"I'm in here." I said and she came in the kitchen.
"She said she's fine but she looked like she just stopped crying. Oh, and she told me to tell you that you don't need to come up there she'll be back down." She said and I nodded. I put dishes in the dishwasher and Cameron started helping me. I looked at her and smiled.
"You don't have to do that, I got it." She still kept on helping me.
"I know I don't have to, but I want to." She said and I smiled. Both my daughter's are so full of life and are very sweet kids and I'm thankful. I looked by the staircase and Kellise came down.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Yeah, you just made me think about my mom. You know how I get when I think about her. But I'm fine, I just need to work on being less sensitive I guess." I hugged her and looked at her.
"You're a very strong girl and it's okay to break sometimes. Its okay to not be okay... you know what I mean? So don't put yourself down because you'll make it through." I said and Kellise gave me another hug.
"What happened to your mom?" Cameron asked and I shot her a look.
"Uhm. Well she, uh-" Kellise stopped talking and looked at me.
"It's your choice if you want to tell her, not mine. But I do believe she is mature enough. She went through the same thing with her dad." I wispered to her.
Kellise
"You girls should go talk. You know try to know more about eachother while the pizza is still cooking." Nicki insisted and Cameron nodded. We went upstairs and sat on my bed.
"What's your story?" Cameron asked bluntly and I played with my fingers a little.
"Its okay. Everyone has one." She said and slightly smiled to make me feel comfortable.
"My mom is on drugs, and my dad... he was Uhm doing things that weren't right so now I'm staying here with you guys." I said and her face softened.
"My dad was on drugs too. He died a few years back when I was nine, and my mother... She died giving birth to me." I gathered her into my arms and kissed her forehead.
"You're the best little cousin ever. You're very strong and I love that about you." I said and she smiled.
"We're gonna be more like sisters." She said and I nodded and smiled.
"Hey let her stay in here because I can't watch her while in the kitchen." My mom said putting Kaylin down and she ran to Cameron.
"Alright we got her." I said and Nicki left out the room.
"The only thing about my mom is that you gotta do or say whatever floats her boat. Like for instance, if I get a boyfriend. I'm better off just not telling her." Cameron said and I laughed.
"Ok. Doesn't she have a boyfriend?" She pondered for a moment then shrugged.
"That guy Meek always text her phone, but I don't know if that's her boyfriend." Cameron said bouncing Kaylin in her lap and playing with her.
"You think they like eachother?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Who knows. But we gotta set them up. He obviously makes her happy cause she smiles all the time while she's texting him." She said and I nodded.
"Alright, we gotta set them up." I said and we shook hands.
