Chapter 12

Kellise
"Cameron. Take you sister to the bathroom and wash her hands." Nicki said and they both got up and left the table.
"Tell me about this boy." She said and I smiled.
"His name is Aaron. He's super sweet. His parents are both lawyers and he loves me very much. He's taken me to therapy sessions and he would be by my side. When he came to get me from my moms house. I remember one of her friends were trying to touch me... but Aaron came and helped me. I stayed with him the rest of the week." I said and she nodded.
"Did you and him have sex?" Nicki asked and I shook my head.
"No. We haven't. He told me he knows I'm not emotionally ready to take that step yet and we both agreed that we should wait to have sex because he knows that a persons virginity is very precious and we want it to be perfect when we do chose to get serious in our relationship." Nicki nodded.
"I care about you. You're my only niece and I'm happy that your making good decisions." She said as the girls came back.
"What I miss?" Cameron asked sitting Kaylin in the booth next to Nicki and she sat next to me.
"Nothing." I said and Cameron sighed.
"Whatever. And mom, did you order that nasty veggie stuff you eat?" I laughed because Nicki likes to eat veggie pizza and no one else does.
"Yes I did. At least it goes together. While you and Kellise like to eat that Hawaiian stuff." Nicki said laughing.
"Hey, Hawaiian pizza is good." Cameron said and I gave her a high five.
"Oh God you two are gonna be getting in trouble." Nicki said and Cameron laid her head on my shoulder.
"When's the food coming?" Cameron asked sipping her Sprite.
"It's almost here honey." Nicki said fixing Kaylin's hair bow.
"Let's play 8 ball." I told Cameron, pulling out my phone.
We all talked and laughed while eating pizza and it was nice being with my family. Soon Kaylin got sleepy and fell asleep on Nicki's shoulder. Nicki paid for the food and picked up Kaylin.
"Alright. Let's go, we got one down." Nicki said and we all left.

Nicki
It was seven in the morning and I heard my phone ring. I looked at the name and it was Jelani.
J- Nicki where the hell is my daughter?
N- She's with me. Her friend moved here and she wanted to see her so she begged me to let her come to Atlanta so I said yes. She told me she asked her mother.
J- She didn't ask me. Send her back.
N- Jelani please. You know what. I'm flying mom and Caiah out here for my daughters birthday in two weeks. You can get her then.
J- Damn it Nicki. Ok she can stay.
N- Bye
J- Alright. Bye
I hung up the phone and looked up, seeing Kellise standing in the door way.
"How much did you hear?" I asked sighing about to get up.
"Enough." She shook her head before walking out of the room.
"Kellise wait." I said and sighed following her to her room.
"Please baby let me talk to you." I said walking into her room. I shut the door and sat down in the chair.
"Kellise" I said and she ignored me and got her bag out of her closet. She started throwing clothes in it.
"Kellise stop it! Listen to me!" I said getting it grabbing her hands, they shook as I saw tears fall from her eyes.
"You're such a liar. What, you want me to be raped?! Do you want me to be beaten on?!" I pulled her to me, hugging her and she cried trying to push me off.
"No! Leave me alone." She said and I sighed.
"I'm getting full custody of you! I love you so much sweetheart. He won't hurt you I won't let him. He's not taking you once I get him here I'm going to court. I have a plan." She looked up at me.
"How do you know it'll work?" She asked.
"I have faith. I just need you to be strong ok?" I asked and her attitude changed.
"How do I know your not lying?" I looked at her hurt and she didn't seem to care at all.
"I'm not a-" she cut me off and sat down on the bed so she wasn't looking at me.
"How many times have you let me down? Answer that? How many times have you told me you were going to pick me up to spend the day with you but cancelled because you had to go to the studio after you had me waiting hours for you? How do you expect me to trust you?" She said and I looked down.
"I'm sorry okay? I can admit I was wrong but now I'm different." I explained.
"I feel bad for your kids you-"
"Don't you bring my children into this! You're a child, stay in a child's place. I'm trying to help you!" She got upset when I yelled at her. I knew I shouldn't have because raising my voice wasn't helping anything.
"Fine. You know what, I don't care anymore." She said and got under her covers laying down. She curled up and turned around.
"I'll give you some time. I love you Kel"

"Why you so quiet?" Cameron asked looking at Kellise. I gave Cameron a look.
"Put that bib on your sister for me please." I said fixing Kellises plate and Cameron did as told.
"Here baby." I said sitting the plate of food in front of Kellise.
"Thank you." She said picking up her fork.
"Can I eat in my room please?" She asked and I sighed.
"Don't you wan-"
"Please" she said and look as if she was gonna cry.
"Yeah go ahead." I said and she slowly went upstairs.
