Karlie had decided to ignore the pair of eyes that had caught her attention, but it still creeped in the edge of her mind for the rest of the school day.
She quickly walked out of the high school, remembering what she was doing this evening. Smacking her face slightly she stopped, knowing she would have to wait for her guest who was going to attempt to make her look pretty. Instead of seeing Jessie she ended up getting attacked by Mrs. Tier.
"Karlie my dear, it is always so good to see you!"
"It's good to see you too," she nervously replied. Was it good to talk to a teacher as if they were your friend on a daily basis? She honestly didn't know if she would be judged.
"Why so shy? Come on, it's a beautiful day and it doesn't need to be ruined with that unnatural frown!" Mrs. Tier said. Karlie couldn't help but wonder how the lady always seemed to be happy.
"I just have a lot on my mind, that's all."
"Sometimes talking about it can make it seem better," Mrs. Tier said, her words etched with sincerity.
"You forget that it can also make things worse," Karlie whispered, not wanting to be called out on talking back to staff.
"Indeed, Karlie. You are very bright, do not let anything shadow over that." On that note Mrs. Tier waved and walked away.
Karlie sighed, but her attention to the secretaries words got lost when she saw Jessie. Jessie wasn't walking towards her though, instead she was in a somewhat in a in depth looking conversation with Mrs. Snarl. Out of curiosity she took a couple steps closer so that she could listen in on their conversation.
"-it means a lot. This favour you are doing for him is in the best of his interest and will result in a better outcome."
"I do not do these things often, Miss. Sky. Do not take my gratitude towards his requests as a common thing. Personally, I believe that there should be no enforcement on these types of situations, but I guess I can't really say no," Mrs. Snarl said.
"I guess so, but please, if he does snap or they randomly leave do not make a fuss over it. This type of thing does happen in other schools that are not made up of a multi species community."
"Now don't go telling me how to run my job, I know what I have to do."
Who are they talking about? They said 'him'...are they talking about Jared? And if Mrs. Snarl knew about Jessie being a werewolf would that make her one too? It was all too confusing for her to handle.
"Karlie, there you are. We need to get you ready," Jessie yelled, snapping Karlie out of her thoughts.
"I don't get the whole deal about this. It's just Jared," Karlie bluntly stated which earned her a scowl from Jessie.
"He is your mate and the Alpha of our pack so I suggest you try and rephrase your words a bit differently."
"He is the one that made me become what I am now which is a monster."
"Whatever, this isn't all about caking your face." Jessie paused. "Well mostly that's the reason but I am going to be telling you some things that will help you out in the future."
"You forget that I am older than you."
"You forget that I am smarter." Did she really just say that? "Right now I am your werewolf guide, that's what I mean."
"I know plenty of things about werewolves. I know that they are selfish and that they need to learn how to clean up their attitude," Karlie snapped. Jessie only rolled her eyes.
