The humming of a tune slowly awoke Karlie, although she didn't want to wake because that would mean having to talk. Her head also was pounding and she wanted sleep to carry her off to a world where everything was perfect and organized. Too bad that wasn't reality.

Opening her eyes she looked at the person sitting at the edge of her bed. She was expecting to see Jared, but instead was greeted with Jeremiah. Her green eyes analyzed him as he tapped his finger against his knee while humming a sweet tune that was soothing to the ear and how his eyes were lost in thought. She couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking about...perhaps it was his lost mate, the one he had not found yet. Whoever it was, they were pretty damn lucky, despite the fact that his ego was too big and his insults were rather rude but true.

"Finally, you woke up, pup," he muttered. "Take a picture, it might last longer."

Karlie flinched out of her train of thought, realizing that she had been staring at him the whole time. Glaring at him she spoke.

"How long was I out?" She asked, her eyes drifting to the window. From what she could tell the sun was setting, leaving few stars already in the darkening sky.

"A few hours, long enough for a lot of people to panic that's for sure." Karlie raised an eyebrow, confused on what he meant. He only sighed when he realized her baffled state.

"Jared's pack and mine know that you are his mate, it's not much of a secret. They got told not to confront you or talk to you yet because of all that's on your plate right now," he said.

Karlie only shook her head. "I don't need you guys telling me what others can and can not do around me, I can handle anything that comes my way. I have a question though, did you catch that wolf?"

Jeremiah paused for a moment, his fingers clenching into fists. "Jared and some others are trying to track him down, we don't know who he is or where he's from. Would you have any idea?"

Karlie was about to say the name of who she thought it was when the door opened and Jessie came running in.

"Jessie, you know you should knock when two people are alone in a bedroom," Jeremiah murmured, a lazy expression taking over the serious one he had just had on.

"I know Jared said to keep her here but I think we should take her back home," Jessie replied, ignoring his remark. "She still has her father and her friends who are unaware of all that has happened to her. We don't want them finding out about us."

"Yeah, I think it's best if I go home," Karlie quickly stated. She jumped off the bed and began to walk towards the door, but a lightheaded feeling started to surround her as the room tilted and swayed in front of her.

"You should sit down."

"No no, I'm fine," Karlie said, blinking to try and straighten out the moving room. She had the feeling she was the only one experiencing this. Her fingers wrapped tightly around the knob as she made it to the door, her wrist turning it ever so slowly as she opened the door.

Walking out she made her way down the hallway, everything still swaying in front of her. She didn't know how she was even still walking with everything turning and spinning in front of her eyes.

"Karlie, if you're going home I suggest you let me take you," Jessie spoke, although her own voice seemed to swirl into the mess unfolding in front of her eyes.

"I'm fine," Karlie whispered as her head slammed into the wall. She groaned out slightly as she continued to walk, but Jessie's hand was now wrapped firmly around her arm. "Let me go."

Jeremiah's chuckle and Jessie's scoffing echoed in her ears as her eyes closed once again and her body drifted into sleep.
