I jolt awake at the sound of a piercing scream. I jump out of bed in my pajama pants and a cami and sprint towards the sound of the scream. I round the corner and enter the kitchen, where I find Austen on top of the table, looking like he's seen a ghost.
"WHAT?!" I yell at him, agitated with him for waking me up.
"I think I saw a rat," he says, with fright in his voice.
"A RAT?! YOU WOKE ME UP AT," I glance at my watch,"4:16 IN THE FUCKING MORNING?!"
Austen looks down sheepishly and hops off the table, "Sorry..."
"Sorry ain't gonna cut it, AD" I snap at him, "You owe me." His eyes widen and I smirk ruthlessly.
I grin and watch Austen as he does every single one of my chores, including cleaning the entire house; BY HIMSELF. I grab the syrup and begin pouring it on the pancakes Alex made me and 'accidentally' spill some on the table.
"AUSTENNNNN YOU MISSED A SPOT" i yell and start laughing so hard, i snort loudly.
"Liking those pancakes, cutie?" Alex says after i finally calm down.
"They're terrific," i say as i stand on my tip-toes and kiss his cheek. In these past few weeks, i've gotten much closer to Alexander. And i think i'm starting to like him, which is ridiculous because someone as perfect as him would never date someone like me.
A reddish-pink blush rises to Alex's face and i grin.
"Hey Alex...i think you're a little overheated," i say barely containing my laughter. He sticks his tongue out at me and i begin cleaning up the sticky plates, where our pancakes once were. I feel a strong pair arms encircling my waist. I smile and dry my hands off before turning around so i'm facing Alex.
He leans down and whispers in my ear, "you're gorgeous, ya know that right?"
I feel the heat creep up onto my face instantly and start to nibble on my lip. He smirks down at me and brings his face only inches away from mine. I step back slightly and bite my lip, looking at the ground.
~Later that day~
"Alex!! where are we going?!" i say laughing as he pulls me along with him towards a still unknown place.
"You'll see!!" he looks back at me momentarily and in those few seconds i feel electricity. But much too soon he tears his eyes from mine and continues running, while we laugh together for no particular reason.
"WE'RE HERE" he yells, looking up at a huge oak tree.
"Woah...." i say, tilting my head up to see the top.
"We're here to get over your fear of heights." He looks over at me with a look of pure innocence, but i still gasp.
"How do you even remember that?! i told you almost 2 years ago!" I say with an edge in my voice.
"I remember everything that you say." he says quietly while grabbing my hand gently. I blush and lean my head on his shoulder. Just as we were about to start climbing, we see the one thing we never wanted to see.
Walkers.
Oooh. Cliffhanger c: Mwahahahahaha.
