----------------------NAOMI'S POV------------

-----------.......................\

I woke up late the next morning and I was over thirty minutes late. Devon was up and nowhere around. I quickly rushed into the shower and took a quick bath. I had a robe on and my hair got a little wet. I started opening doors looking for him. He was really gone. Upset was an understatement to how I was feeling. I quickly dressed up and grabbed my keys. My hair had air dried already by the time I was done dressing up. I noticed a note under my purse with a pen beside it. I picked it up and turned it over.

"Hi Love, had to rush out, work emergency. I made you some coffee in the machine. Sorry I didn't wake you, you looked so peaceful and you looked like you needed the rest. Breakfast will be delivered to you whenever you want. On me. Have a great day, Dev".

Well that wasn't so bad but I was still not satisfied. What was so important he had to leave suddenly. He always slept in. I rushed over to my car which I was thankful Bulldog had brought over earlier. I got to work only to be told I had a three pet meeting with Samantha in five minutes. If I could blink it away I would have. I headed to the conference room ten minutes after purposely to be late.

She was already in with two more doctors who looked up at me and smiled while Samantha just scoffed and ignored me. I said hi to the two doctors in lab coats and ignored her like she didn't exist. Yeah I can be petty too.

"HI Naomi, thanks for coming. I'm Alex, and this is Scot", Scot smiled politely and said hi. Well they also ignore Samantha so I guess the odds were in my favour today. How nice. I smiled back and said hi.

"We wanted to join your research for your next reproach scheduled 3d op and make a record copy for some college lecture if that is okay. We were told to ask you first because you were heading the team", Alex explained while I listened. Oh yeah I had completely forgotten about that. I had an upcoming semi op showcase that was going to be live. I hadn't set a date yet and Samantha had tried forcing her way in it but it wasn't working. I wondered why she was even here in the first place.

"Oh yes, sure why not. But I haven't set a date yet. And it can only be live and you would have to talk to the hospital for the copy because they will have the rights to it. I just wanted agreed to do it live when they asked. I'm sorry, what is she doing here again?", I asked with them exchanging looks and Samantha wearing a scornful face.

"Well she said she could convince you. And she was in charge of the last one from three years ago even though it wasn't broadcasted. Oh and Scot here had an idea he wanted to share in case your team was ready", he smiled again.

Samantha cleared her throat as I was about to talk and she eyes then, "I'm here because I am in charge of board monitoring meetings no matter how small they are. That is why this was scheduled and you were informed. Also, I don't care about that little project if yours. If anything is as useless as finding a cure for Osteoporosis. Given me a break", I looked t her and smiled delightfully.

"You must be going through a lot judging from those deformed wrinkles around your neck and eyes. How do you wake up every morning and your first instinct is to be yourself which by the way is the worst kind as well. Don't you get tired, I mean ofcourse we will give you a break, you need it anyway", I smiled again with her fuming and then turned to the guys who were exchanging goggles, "I haven't set up a team yet, and mostly they approach me and I have to access each and everyone but I have been pretty busy and had no time to do that. I do hope that's okay".

They exchanged looks, "Of course that's okay. We can even help with the team selection. Scot is also the hospital record manager and I work with the surgery video crew. We practically know everyone in here", i beamed in satisfaction because I was not ready for that kind of work.
