"Mighty nice to meet y'all!" A hand planted onto my shoulder and I screamed, shuddering, ran a bit forward and turned around at the man with my hand on my sword. "Y'all no need to be feisty now. I'm the chief of this here village. Now what brings y'all here to this countryside?" I sighed as I stared at the old man. He had blue eyes with a grey beard and mustache with grey hair planted inside his hat. He also had a country accent. He must've been a farmer before this war started. I coughed and looked at him with a daring look.
"Wa'll wanted to check out the neighboring farm countryside of y'all's new area!" He stared at me in confusion. Tarleo sighed and stepped forward, grabbing the man's attention. He stole my spotlight!
"What my friends trying to say her is that we say your village here and we wanted to check it out. We currently had our homes destroyed by the war and we were following the North Star for help." He pointed at the fading bright star as the sun began rising.
"Oh, y'all should've said so! We gotten more beds y'all can even dream upon that star for!" He started laughing. I sighed. So I messed up the accent. So what?
"Sorry about that. I tried to speak your language." He stared at me again and laughed even more.
"No need to worry, young'en! You mighty tried for as non you are!" I sighed in relief as I guessed what he just said.
"Old minor, stop saying you're the chief. I have time to deal with these new ones. If they have no skills, they need to leave or die. Get these timelines right, retired old chief!" I jumped and turned around to see that the villagers had snuck up behind us. "We're currently in war, so we can't add anyone without skills or anyone who could be a spy." He glared at me and I noticed I still had my hand on the grip of my sword. I started laughing awkward and rubbed the back of my head.
"Yea.. sorry, I kinda.. got startled.." He groaned in dominance. Kinda like Emeralzy..
"Son, why don't y'all invite them young'ens to tea? We all ain't gonna stand out here in the center of fights! Come y'all, let's go." He signaled to us and we followed. I stayed behind a little bit, not thinking it's safe. I start following them when I heard the 'new chief' whisper something.
"Stupid old man... he needs to learn he's not the chief anymore." I sighed and hurried along, behind Erian.
I sighed, crossing my arms and legs. This was one..long..table. I looked at the small tea plate with a cup filled with tea in front of me. I loved tea, but I can't trust tea from strangers. From everyone else, I looked like a stalker, staring at the waves of the tea, dressed in a black coat with a red scarf. My long brown hair itched the nape of my neck. I growled an adjusted my seating position. Now I felt comfy. I closed my hazel eyes and listened to the whispers. Before I knew it, I fell asleep.
"So, what skills DO you have?" I opened one eye to see the chief staring at us, the old man in the chair next to him.
"I'm a general! Well, until I ran away I guess.." Tarleo stared at him with fire in his eyes, daring him to say he has no skills.
"Well.. Generals are made generals because they must have skills. Alright, I'll keep you. And you?"
"General Apprentice! I'm still in training though, but I know how to fight!" I looked at him in surprise. I thought he was a scared fighter! Maybe Tarleo needed him to stay behind because they can't kill a general apprentice.
"Errr, fine. We can make good use to you." He looked at me. "You look pathetic. What do you do?" Hmm.. I looked at the ceiling as I leaned towards the wall, pulling little hairs on the back of my head as I had my hands behind my head, thinking. A claw poked me and I looked down in my pouch to see my three dragons. I can't let them be seen, Unknown, can't be seen. Unless they don't wanna keep me, I won't tell them. But.. because I can't lie, I'll tell them the truth without saying the whole truth. So for now..
"Author."
"What..?"
"Author. I can read stories I wrote to your children. But of course, I was added to this war because I can fight...so I could be of some use. I can't tell you any more."
"You would be of some use, but no. I have no need for an author." I snickered.
"I knew you'd say that, but you're disrespecting something that shouldn't be disrespected. If I were you, I wouldn't let me go because if you had listened, you would have known I didn't tell you the whole truth. Leaving me as the mystery. Does that ring any bells?" I stood up and walked away, waving towards him as I left through the door.
"Wait..who gave you permission to leave? I'm the chief so, you can't disobey my orders." I turned around and smiled.
"And you can't disobey mine OR tell me what to do. You have no rights to give me permission. I choose for myself. No one has rights to tell me what to do and what not to do. So I would think twice before crossing me. Remember, I have a bigger status than anyone in this country. Heck, not even the President can tell me what to do! I have permission to tell HIM what to do!" I smirked and dared him to complain with my eyes.
"That's not possible. Only one person can do that, but he's named Unknown for a reason. Now stop your lies and I order you to tell me."
"I don't feel like it." I snickered and kicked up dirt. They can't tell me what to do. I looked up at him as he shot up from his seat and glared at me in rage. "Don't be so feisty now! You'd regret it if you touch me! And like you said, she's Unknown for a reason."
"She..? Stop making lies."
"Fine! I don't believe in lies so I don't lie. I tell the honest truth and trust me, I know everything about Unknown. She's Unknown because she doesn't care of saving a country. She doesn't care about anything. She chooses her own path and has three dragons. And, besides, she's a teenager so why should I..no..she fight? She still needs to train her dragons!"
"Stop your lies!"
"Need proof? Because I told you everything you need to know! I don't take orders!"
"I order you to! I will not take no for an answer!" I sighed.
"You're annoying me. So I'll tell you if you don't shut up."
"Don't tell me what to do!"
"You'll regret every saying that line to me." I smiled mockingly at him and turned around. Stepped outside a little bit because I knew what was gonna happen. I looked down inside my pouch and nodded to them, meaning to do our secret entrance we practiced. LightingMoon sat there, not caring. Dew tipped his hat. And Emeralzy nodded back. Meaning they were ready. I spun around and the three dragons jumped out. LightingMoon and Dew jumped out to my left and Emeralzy to my right. No one could see them because they looked like I just threw out a gold, black, and green smoke bomb as they transformed. I heard coughing and I couldn't because I was outside. The tent was overflowing with the three colors as they choked on it. When the smoke vanished, the chief opened his eyes in hatred, only for it to go wide eyed as he stared in disbelief. Of course they weren't in human form. That would ruin the purpose of them being dragons. So they were..medium sized. Kinda the height of the biggest dog. But with wings. And..other dragons features. Oh, I forgot. They're medium sized because I can't break the tent. Oh right, I forgot my line. "I am Unknown. So don't tell me what to do!"
