Chapter 3

I was still crashing over at the Simms' house. In fact, I hadn't actually been inside my house except for one time when I had to pick up some clothes. Thankfully, my parents completely understood why I didn't want to be there.

That, and I was eighteen now so they couldn't force me to live home if I didn't want to.

I tended to spend most of my days at the diner for some reason. Well, it was our hangout after all, and I knew if anyone wanted to bother me about what my brother did, which happened a lot, Dan would kick them out.

He did not like it when people chose to verbally harass anyone.

I tried getting Kenny to come with me to the dinner, but he didn't really want to leave the house because he had a feeling people were going to be staring at him and giving him dirty looks.

He really should have thought things through before taking the blame.

At least people will found out eventually he wasn't really the killer. It was just going to take a while for the word to get around. Hopefully it did soon.

I ordered a strawberry milkshake at the counter first before sitting down at the table where Destiny, Ariella, and Valentina were. "Hey, besties," I said. "So what are you talking about? Anything juicy, because I really need my drama."

"Nothing really interesting," Destiny said. "Just about the university. Ariella was telling me that they have a theatre program there and you don't even have to be registered in the university to go there."

"Uh, that is interesting," I said. "Drama is my life, and that means real-life drama and theatre drama. I don't even know if I want to go to university, but I might go there. Are you?"

"I think I might after the baby is born," Destiny said. "I really miss acting."

"Yeah, me too," Ariella said. "Not too much because I did help out with the school play, so I got to held direct it and see the process, but I do miss being on stage."

"I did take part in some plays," Valentina said. "I might join too. It seems like it would be fun."

"Ooh, all four of us doing it will be fun," Ariella said. "So, are we all in?"

We all decided that we would join that theatre program in September. That was when it started and if Destiny went into labor early again, it would be perfect timing. If not, I was sure the director wouldn't mind if she joined in a bit late.

She could even join in right away since her being pregnant wasn't going to do anything because she was going to have the baby way before the actual performance.

"So, how's Kenny doing?" Ariella asked me. "Horatio said he doesn't really want to leave the house."

"Yeah, he doesn't," I said. "He's just lucky he got out on May long weekend so he has four days to rest before he has to go back to school."

"How long was he in prison for?" Valentina asked.

"About three weeks," I said. "So he has a lot of catching up to do at school. I'm just happy the school play we were both in was already performed before that happened."

"Oh my gosh, yes," Ariella said. "We would have had to cancel."

"Didn't you have any understudies?" Valentina asked. "Or someone that would have been able to read the script for it? It's been done before."
