Chapter 10
I wasn't even listening to my teacher's lecture. It was close to the end of the school year, so I already lost most of motivation. That, and he was the most boring teacher in the school, and all the students agreed. He just went on and on, talking about who knows what with a monotone.
I could already feel my eyes drooping, so I looked over at the clock. We have only been here for fifteen minutes and it was only the first period.
The school had a ten minute rule to go into the hallways after the start and before the end, so thankfully I could leave right now. Hopefully, the teacher let me. Sometimes, he was so into his lectures and stories he didn't even notice if someone raised their hand.
I raised my hand and the teacher, thankfully, called on me. "Can I go to the washroom?" I asked.
"You should have went before school," he said.
"I didn't have to go before school," I said. "I don't control my pee. It just comes when it wants and right now, it wants too."
He sighed. "Fine. You can go."
I got up from my desk, putting my phone in my pocket before leaving the classroom. I didn't really have to go to the washroom, but I couldn't handle being in the classroom any longer.
I first got a drink of water from the fountain before walking around the school. I should have brought my bag with me so I could just hang out in the hallway and not go to class.
Math was that boring.
While I was near the theatre, the PA system suddenly went on. "This is a Code Red. Repeat, this is a Code Red."
Well.
At least I didn't have to go back to math class.
I wasn't the only one in the hallway near the theatre, so once Annie opened the door, she gestured for us to get in and head backstage. We headed backstage and as soon as we got there, I saw Kenny sitting there.
I sat down beside him. "What are you doing?" he asked in a soft voice.
"I was in the hallway because of a very boring lecture in class," I said. "You?"
"My English class was in here to do Shakespeare performances," he replied. "Thankfully it's obviously going to be postponed because I was the only one in my group who was prepared."
"You had amateurs?" I asked.
Kenny nodded. "Big time. They didn't even know what off-book means."
I gasped. "How tragic."
"I know, right?" Kenny said. "I wonder what's going on."
"Yeah, me too," I said, wrapping my arms around him. He leaned into me and pulled out his phone as it beeped. "Are you even allowed to go on your phone?"
"Come on, I'm not the only one," Kenny said, and I looked around to see almost everyone on their phone. "Besides, I got a text from Horatio."
"What does it say?" I asked.
Kenny looked at it, his eyebrows furrowed. "He asked if I'm okay."
"Ask him what's going on," I said. Kenny nodded and texted him back.
While he waited for a reply, the other students in the classroom began talking to each other in panicked voices.
