Chapter 14

"Hey, cutie," I said when I walked up behind Kenny at his locker, which made him jump a bit because his back was facing me.

I laughed as Kenny turned to face me, punching my arm in the progress. "Don't scare me like that," he said.

"Then don't be scared so easily," I said. "It's cute, though. Just like you."

"Complimenting me won't make me feel better," Kenny said. "I keep telling you not to scare me."

"What will make you feel better?" I asked, gently pushing Kenny against the locker beside is. "Because I have an idea."

"Does your idea have anything to do with kissing?" Kenny asked. "Because I am so up to that."

"It definitely does," I said before I leaned down, pressing my lips on his. Kenny wrapped his arms around my shoulders and kissed me back, but it wasn't long before someone cleared their throat.

We pulled away and saw the principal, Mr. Griffith, standing there. "No kissing in the hallways," he said.

"Oh, come on," I said. "It's after school and the hallways aren't too crowded."

"That's nice, but there is still a no kissing rule," Mr. Griffith said.

"No one ever lets us kiss anywhere," I said.

Mr. Griffith shrugged before walking away.

"Want to go somewhere to make out?" I asked.

"I would like too, but I have a lot of homework to do," I said. "And you have to meet Destiny and Dan at the hospital to hear your baby's heart beat."

       "Okay, but afterwards?"

"It depends how long my homework takes."

"Really? You'd rather do your homework than make out with me?"

"I have a lot of catching up to do while being in the hospital that one time, and then prison. And it doesn't help that the last day of school is coming soon."

       I sighed. "Right."

"Don't worry, we can make out at the cast party tomorrow."

"Could it be? Kenny Simms, wanting to make out in public? Did an alien snatch your body?"

"Uh, no. It's a cast party for the play where we kissed, and where the whole cast kept asking if we were dating before I even came out, and scream and cried when they found out we were dating. They're not going to judge."

I smiled slightly. "I'm glad to see you don't care."

"I never did," he said. "I was only worried about my parents' reaction because they're very religious, but they still love me and they're trying their best to accept me, so I'm totally okay making out in public."

"That will totally make the cast party better," I said. "But I should probably head to the hospital now."

"Okay," Kenny said, closing his locker.

Since the hospital was on the way home, Kenny and I headed that way together. When we got to the house, I kissed his cheek before he headed inside and I headed to the hospital.

Destiny and Dan were already there waiting for me. "Sorry for being late," I said. "I was....talking with Kenny."

"Calvin, you might as well just say kissing because we all know that's what you mean by talking," Destiny said.
