You’ve always admire him ever since you saw him in the first place. To you, he was perfect. He was more than anything. But, you never had the chance to tell him you like him because you don’t have the courage to do so. Hence, you decided to keep it deep inside your heart and admire him from a far.
Kris was the school heart-throb and every girl in the school was swooning over him including you. But you never show your interest to him in public because at school, you were known as the ‘dull’ _____ since you liked to be unnoticeable.
Instead, you would watch him; playing and practicing basketball every day at school as Kris was the school team’s captain. He was so talented in indoor sports. When there’s a game, you would come to watch him play. But, when his fangirls were screaming out his name and cheering for the team, you would just stay put; eyeing them without doing anything as you don’t want the crowd to know about your true self.
You still remember it as if it was yesterday when Kris looked to your way on the bleachers; winking.
You never thought of confessing to Kris because the saddest fact is, you heard a rumor that he already had a girlfriend and that lucky girl was none other than, Jessica; one of the prettiest girl in school. But that didn’t bother you that much as you just admire him and you know that you were not worth his love.
There’s a game today; in the evening. But you were not keen to go and watch the game since you’ve got something way more important to do than sitting and watching those fangirls screaming their hearts out which hurt your eardrums and you thought they might exploded due to the girls’ dolphin-liked voice.
You spent your day at the school library, doing piles of home works and some extra revisions as the final examination is just around the corner. You were taking notes, doing this and that until you hadn’t realized it’s almost 7.
You stopped for a while; stretching your arms out and let out a yawn as you were starting to feel sleepy. You glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. Knowing it’s going to be late, you collected your stuffs and put them all inside your school bag, rushed towards the door before exiting the library; running all the way to your house.

To your luck, your mom and dad were still outside; working. But even though you are home late, they wouldn’t be taking any notice about it since they were paying more attention to their works than their own daughter at home. And, you didn’t even mind if they did so because you were used to it ever since you were little.
You shut the front door and took off your sneakers, throwing the keys on the table before heading upstairs to your room. As you reached your room, you slammed the door; feeling slightly tired, your eyes hurts as you’ve been using them for hours.
You went straight to your bathroom and took a bath to relief the stress.

It’s already midnight but both of your parents weren’t at home. You decided to go to bed earlier this night. But your eyes wouldn’t shut as you forced yourself to fall asleep. You lied down on your comfy bed, staring at the white ceiling of your room; thinking what would Kris be doing right now. Your lips curled up to form a smile as you reminded about a scene happened a few years back then where you first met Kris. It was a hilarious incident happened during junior high where he forgot to zip up his jeans and you could see his pink boxers. He had just moved to South Korea so he really didn’t understand much of Korean. The other students were giggling as they noticed it but you were the one who bravely told him in Chinese as you learned a bit of the language.

You couldn’t fall asleep so in the end, you decided to have a stroll outside for some fresh air before heading to bed. As you walked near a basketball court, there was a guy, playing basketball alone in the middle of the night. You slowed your path and eyed him. ‘Kris?’
“I can’t believe this is happening. How could she do this to me? She only dated me for fun? Urgh! Stupid!! Why did I even date her?”
You barely heard him while trying to get the ball into the ring but unfortunately, it won’t go in.
“Shoot!”
“Dang it!”
“Shit!”
Kris cursed each time he got a rebound. You found yourself staring at him in awestruck. But then..
“Ouch!”
The ball bounced straight towards you and hit you square in the face. You could feel your face burning. “Oh, sorry.” You heard Kris’s footstep drew nearer towards your way. “Are you okay?” His angel-like voice asked caringly, his hand reached out to help you. You nodded in reply. Now, your face was flushing red in shyness.
“Oh, it’s you, ______.” Kris smiled brightly at you. You were surprised to hear your name coming from his mouth. ‘He knew my name?’
“I’m sorry about earlier. What are you doing here anyway, in the middle of the night?” Kris shot your questions. You let out a chuckle, “Which one shall I answer first, huh? I thought I’m the one who should ask you what on Earth are you doing here?” You said, looking at Kris. His gummy smile faded away as he heard you.
“W-What’s wrong? Did my question hurt you?” You asked in concern. Kris shook his head, “Nothing, it’s just... Jess dumped me.” He blurted, staring at you with pleading eyes. You gasped lightly, “Really? But, why? Oh wait, I shouldn’t ask. I’m sorry anyway. Cheer up~” You gave him an encouraging smile. “Thanks.” He replied shortly, smiling bitterly.
“Anyway, I hadn’t seen you this evening during the game, _____. Where have you been?” Kris changed the topic. “O-Oh, I was doing some researches, you know. Exams are just around the corner.” You answered, slightly stutter. Kris nodded at your remark, “Hey, wanna know something?” Kris asked, you raised a brow. “Well, I know this might sound weird but I’ve wanted to tell this to you since junior high, will you be mine?”
