You stared at the coffin where he lied lifelessly. The tears stream down to your cheeks heavily. Your cheeks, nose & eyes were redden. You really can’t believe or even accept this is happening to him; to you. It is true the both of you aren’t in the relationship anymore but your heart will always for him; there’s no other.
You wiped away your tears & sniffed a few times; trying to convince yourself & your heart. You couldn’t take it by seeing his lifeless body lay down in the coffin. You slowly lifted your trembling right hand. You wanted to touch his frozen cheeks but as your hand got nearer, you stopped your action. Your hands were still trembling; even your body was trembling hard.
You placed your hand away from his cheeks. You don’t have the heart to touch him; you just don’t because your mind refuses to. You just stood there, in front of the coffin without any movement; you’re just like a statue stunned frozenly there, don’t even move an inch.
“*y/n*!” Someone called your name. You knew who it was just by hearing the voice but you don’t move a bit from your current position. You just wanted to be by his side; you don’t want to leave his lifeless body.
Then you felt someone poked your shoulder from behind. You closed your red pair of eyes while taking a deep breath as you turned to your right to face that someone.
“Hey.” Luhan, Sehun’s best friend greeted you. You looked at him before giving him a slight nod. His lips curls up to form a smile; he seems want to comfort you. You just replied it with an insincere smile. Then, there’s a short awkward silence between the both of you before Luhan spoke up,
“I’m sorry about Sehun.” He said half whispering with his head turning to his right to take a glance at the coffin. But you didn’t reply him because you don’t have anything to say about it.
Luhan stared at you as if he was waiting for you to answer him but instead you just shut your mouth. He knows you’re feeling sad about losing Sehun; he’s sad too since Sehun is like a younger brother to him, everyone is sad about it but perhaps it’s not as sad as you’re feeling inside.
Luhan cleared his throat as he thought it might grab your attention but he’s wrong. Instead, you turned back in front & stared at the coffin. He sighed heavily; he knew this was going to happen. He cleared his throat again; louder this time & hoped it’ll grab your attention. But you’re showing no reaction to it. So in the end, Luhan grabbed your shoulder & spun you around only to face him again. You were surprised by his sudden action. You looked up at him; giving him a glare. You tried to loosen Luhan’s tight grip on your shoulder but you can’t. Luhan may seem like a weak type of guy but he’s a guy though, his strong grip can’t compare to yours.
Luhan looked at you with his pleading pair of eyes. He then loosen his grip on your shoulder before saying, “Look, I’ve something to give you.” He handed you a letter. You hesitated to take it from him. You looked at him in both curiosity & confusion. Luhan held your hand & placed the letter on it. You wanted to ask him what’s all this about but before you could say anything, he said as if he was now able to read someone’s mind, “Read it. It’ll explain everything to you.”
With your trembling hands, you ripped off the wrapper of it & began to read it,
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I should’ve told you about this but I don’t have the heart to because I don’t want to hurt you. *y/n*, you do know how much I love you, don’t you? And I do know how much you love me too. It never crossed my mind that this would happen. I’m sorry. I really should’ve told you everything but I really don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want you to cry because of it; I don’t want you to spend your time worrying about me. I’m useless!
*y/n*, remember the day when we broke up? Actually, I have to do that because.. I just found out I have a cancer & it’s on the high level. The doctor said I only have two months or less. And that’s why I decided to end this between us; especially our wedding even though it hurts me more than what I suffered. I’m sorry. Your love, Sehun.”
Your whole body was trembling harder than before as you finished reading the letter. Luhan immediately pulled you into his embrace to comfort you. You cried so hard in his embrace. Luhan didn’t know what else he shall do so he lets you cry your heart out.
“It’s okay, let it all out. I’m here for you.” Luhan comforted you with a soft whisper.
‘Sehun, I promise I’ll take a very good care of her for you. Rest in peace.’
