Grey's Dress
"Miss, it's time for your bath." Lucille said.
"Alright." I answered walking into the bathroom.
Tonight was the Report and I was a bundle of nerves. At home I hardly ever watched TV, let alone be on it. I was just glad the girls wouldn't be questioned tonight; nothing interesting had happened. Carson would ask the Prince a few questions after the King says the news and that would be it.
I stepped into the warm bathtub that smelled of lavender and soaked until I was deemed clean. My maids put me into a gorgeous pale pink dress with little silver sequins along the hem. They curled and pulled my hair back with little silver bow pins and accented all the silver in my outfit with a silver necklace. There was a bow attached and I must say, it was heavy.
"As always, thank you, Lucille, Blaire, and Kendra. You have simply outdone yourselves. I really love this dress." It was true. The dress was beautiful and I couldn't wait to walk into the studio.
"Thank you, M'Lady. Now go," Kendra ordered. "You mustn't be late."
"See you tonight." I waved goodbye as I practically skipped down the hall. Tonight was going to be special for sure.

"Places, everyone!" The stage manager yelled.
I made it to the studio with fifteen minutes to spare and have been waiting patiently for his call. I sat down in the second row next to Leni. Quinn had already nabbed a seat in the front row so I thought I should leave her be.
"Are you nervous? 'Cause I'm super nervous." Leni said frantically beside me. "Oh my goodness! Ahhhh!"
You could tell she wasn't comfortable in this situation. She was practically itching to get out of her seat.
"I'm nercited. It's a mixture of both nervous and excitement." I told her with a laugh. "But don't worry, it will all be over soon. We won't even be spoken to. Okay?"
"Alright." She said wearily just as the Illean National Anthem began to play.
The anthem finished and Carson walked up to the stage, soaking in the cheers and clapping g from the audience. The King began to stand to address the country.
"Good evening, Illea! This is the first Report with new guests. We have the Selected here with us, though we won't be questioning them tonight. We'll be questioning my son instead! But first, we have to cover the news.
"We have recently been informed that...,"
The King finished the news and motioned for Carson to begin about three quarters of the way into the show.
"Hello, everyone! I hope you don't mind me stepping in for the King!" He laughed. "Tonight we're questioning Prince Benetton!"
The crowd roared with cheers and clapping. They clearly wanted to hear what was on the Prince's mind.
"Alright, Carson. Shoot." Benetton grinned.
"So, how do you feel about the girls? Are they nice? Mean? Catty?" Carson asked.
"They all seem very lovely. I have had the privilege to meet all of them and they seem very sophisticated." He replied smoothly.
"That's wonderful! Has any one girl stood out to you?"
"Not exactly. I haven't really looked at them all too closely."
"Really?" He seemed shocked.
"What do you expect? I've only met them for one day!"
"That's true, that's true." He admitted. "I will ask this next question only for the sake of the show, alright?"
The Prince nodded and silence followed awaiting the question.
"Have you been on a date yet?"
"No! You people and your love of other's love life!" He joked.
"Thank you Prince Benetton for your time. Seen as nothing important came out of your mouth, how about I ask your brother, Prince Nicholas his thoughts on the matter?"
Prince Nicholas looked taken back. He wasn't expecting to be questioned today., but he easily covered up the surprise on his face quickly for the cameras.
"So far, I'm enjoying it. I have to admit, I haven't noticed a difference apart from meal times." He chuckled. "We have a few more guests than usual."
"We do and I'm sure the cooks and chefs have to work double time."
"I bet they do, Carson. If I had to work that much, I'd probably pass out. I'm not cut out for work in the kitchen."
"Hmm, I'd love to see you try." Carson laughed. "Thanks for letting me chat with you."
"No problem. I love seeing my brother get uncomfortable with all the girls here." He mentioned with a smile while his brother stared daggers at him.
"That is about all we have time for tonight, though. Thank you, Illea for watching this week's episode of the Report! Stay tuned until next week where we interview all of the Selected girls!" He finished with a smile.
The bright lights in the studio dimmed, signaling that the cameras were off. All the girls slowly rose out of their seats and began to walk over to the exit door. On our way out, Leni tripped on the chair in front of her and fell down. Luckily, Prince Nicholas was there and caught her before she fell completely to the floor. As she got up, you could tell she was awestruck. She kept staring into his hazel eyes and couldn't move on her own.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Y-yes." She stuttered. "Thank you."
"Of course." He walked away without a second look back. Personally, I thought his brother seemed nicer, but that was just my own opinion. Nicholas just seemed kind of stiff and unapproachable, whereas his brother was lighthearted and easy to talk to.
"I think I'm going to go up to my room." I told Leni. "Do you want to walk together?"
"Let's go." She replied swiftly.

My maids helped me get ready for bed. I honestly wasn't sure what I would do without them. They took off my makeup and put me into a blue satin nightgown that felt like water. I let my hair fall to my waist in waves since it had been pulled up all night.
"Thank you, girls. You have helped me so much tonight, but I just have one question. Do you think you would be able to leave me alone tonight?" I asked with a small smile. "I don't think you need to be here all night. If I need anything, I'll just ring the bell, I promise."
"Alright," Lucille grimaced. "But if someone gets after us for not staying, I'm sending them to you."
"Okay." I laughed. "Good night."
"Good night, Lady Grey." Lucille replied.
"See you in the morning." Blaire promised.
Kendra just waved and left me with my thoughts. I climbed under the covers and into the heated depths of Cover Land. I had never been in a bed so soft and I was intent on keeping it that way.
