I stepped into my room, the floor immediately wet with rain water. No doubt my maids would question the wet floor and sopping dress. I turned on the bath and watched it fill the tub. I added lavender oils and bubbles.
I stripped myself of the dress and stepped into the bath, letting the hot water warm me from the outside in. I grabbed a book and began to read, trying not to wet the pages with the water.
I carefully stepped out of the tub and dried myself with one of the fancy white towels. They actually felt like a cloud and looked like one too. I put on a robe and a pair of slippers before leaving the bathroom to look for a dress. I chose a deep maroon evening dress, perfect for dinner with the other Selected.
My maids were nowhere to be seen, so I did my own makeup, copying what they do to me in the morning every day. It didn't look that bad for my first time. The hair was a little trickier though. I couldn't seem to hold the curling wand and my hair at the same time without burning my fingers. After many failed attempts, I just decided to straighten it all and pin a small section back. Considering my maids didn't help at all, I thought I did pretty well.
I walked into dinner a little late, but still was there before the food was served. I sat down next to Leni, since I hadn't seen her for a few days.
"Good evening, Leni." I said in my most fancy voice.
"Good evening." She replied in a similar tone.
"So, how has your life been?"
"Is been ok, I guess." She smiled. "The Prince asked me on a date!" She squealed.
"Leni, that's amazing! You'd be a great Pricess, you're so sweet."
"Thank you. I think you'd be a great Princess too."
I nodded and continued to talk with Leni for the rest of the meal, laughing at any joke.
"Quinn, how is your dinner tonight?" Ben asked.
"Oh, it's wonderful, Your Majesty." She said sheepishly while glancing at my direction.
"That's great, I was actually wondering if you would like to go with me on a date tomorrow?"
"Of course, Your Majesty." She nodded.
He went back to eating while Quinn stared into my eyes with a look of excitement. It looked as though she could hardly contain her smile. I finished my meal quickly, along with Quinn and Leni.
I excused myself, curtsied, and left the room. I heard Quinn follow, Leni close on her tail.
"You got a date!" Quinn exclaimed looking at Leni.
"Why are you so excited?" Leni grinned. "You just got asked on a date at dinner."
"I know, but I've already had a date. You haven't."
"I know! Ahhh! I'm so excited!" She squealed.
"Yes!" Quinn agreed. "He's so handsome!"
"What about you, Grey?" Leni turned.
"I'm so excited for you." I said truthfully.
"No, I mean about your date."
"What date?"
"Didn't he ask you on a date?"
"No. I've only been on one. That's okay though. I'm so excited for yours." I smiled.
"Oh, I thought I heard someone talking about seeing you and the Prince together. Weird." She shrugged.
I yawned. "Wow, it's pretty late. I think I'm going to go to my room. We have lessons tomorrow and I don't want to be late or tired. See ya'."
