From the look of things, this barn had been abandoned almost forever. I scratch my eyes and yawn as I get up.

"Goodmorning. I had taken diablo for a ride to fetch some food, I hope yah don't mind." Says father.

"Don't be silly pa. When he is not all mine he is all yours. Say, why is there commotion in the village?" I ask.

"The royal parade is passing by. Nobody wants to look rugged when their hut is passed by." He answers.

I had never fancied the royal family. They were always walking with their noses in the air.

"Psst! Aunt! Are yah there?" I ask, not sure if what I am doing is safe or sane. I had always wanted to know if Olivia was still alive. I was about to find out.

Slowly opening the cell, I walk in cautiously and before I know it, I am pinned to the ground.

"What do yah want scoundrel!? Are yah here to make me bald like yah threatened?" She asks.

I hold up both my hands to show surrender. She was mighty strong for a person locked up for thirteen years straight.

"Relax! It is me Gerald." I say barely catching my breath. She lets me go.

"Are yah trying to die lad? What are yah here for? I could have whooped your tush and broken your nose." She says.

I laugh and say, "I have only   a few minutes before I am dragged out to parrade. I bring good news. I think I saw yah girl at the market."

"How is she? Is she miserable? Is she a slave? ( gasps) or worse, Lorreta's slave!?" She asks.

"She is quite a sass but she is alright. I swear I could have seen a broken nose on me face if I had not walked away." I answer.

She scoffs and smiles. Looking at her tired old and battered face makes me feel sorry for her.

I vow to myself that I would avenge her one day even if it took forever. Keeping this secret was only the beggining.

"Come on Gerald! You will make us late for this nonesense." Says Hayley.

"Sssh! Yah don't want grandma to hear yah say that. She practically turned this day into a holiday." I say chuckling. Hayley rolls her eyes.

"I do not want to go." She whines.

"Aye. Nobody does princess. But you are soon to be queen of this kingdom and yah have to get used to things like these." I say biting my lip to stop myself from shattering her hopes.

"One day Ger, I will escape from this palace. The very place I do not wish to be in." She says and with that, the parade begins.

As is standard procedure, we smile and wave at the villagers as they show their excitement towards their rulers. Then, I see her. Riding her horse fiercely as if she were preparing for battle.

As the carriage slows down, I decide to jump off it. "Hey! Where are you going?" Demands Hayley.

"I will be back before the parade ends I promise!" I say.

I run towards the field to catch up with her and clutch my knees to catch my breath.

"Are yah okay?" She asks.

I take a deep breath and look at her, laughing from the shock on her face. "Lass with sass. I am quite alright." I answer.

"I did not mean to. It is just not very nice that you would want me horse sir and talk bad to me like that." She says.

I nod my head. "Nobody knows about your smart mouth lass. I won't be asking for yah head." I stop and chuckle. "I am amazed at how bold yah are. Just don't cross paths with the queens around here." I say.

"Aye. I get yah." She answers and climbs her horse.

"Maybe we can be acquainted some time." I say. She looks at me baffled before making a face replying.

"Sometime sir." Then she rides away into the woods. This was going to be an interesting quest.
