And for two days Hayley and her mother had lived in fear of a ghost they had not seen until the queen had an idea.

"Hayley, I know what we must do." Says the queen.

"And what might that be?" Asks Hayley.

"We must travel to see Magdalena. It is the only way I will be able to reclaim power." Says the queen with a look of determination.

"But who will take us?" Asks Hayley.

"Gerald. He is the only sane person remaining who we can trust." She answers.

Meanwhile...

"Where is the duke going this fine morning?" Asks Olivia.

"Where else? Aunt has sent for me to take her to Finland. You were right." Replies Gerald.

"Remember the plan and watch your back. You never know who is watching." She says.

"Don't worry, I already planned ahead. See you in seven days." He answers.

"Do come back quickly." She responds as she waves him goodbye.

She knew that without him she could not see her loved ones undetected. Much as it pained her, she had to stay put. It was seven days only after all.

"Gerald! What a time to see you." Says the queen.

"We have to travel now if we are to get there quickly." Says Gerald greeting them as he had been taught since childhood. She might have no kingdom to rule but she still had the throne and refused to abdicate it.

Closing the castle was something the queen had never imagined to ever happen but she had to in order to get what she wanted.

They stop over and rest for the night to refresh themselves and sleep before the next day ahead of them.

And so they journeyed until their next stop over. This made the queen very impatient and irritable.

"Was there not a much shorter way to travel?" She asks.

"Oh but there is. If you want to travel in between our enemies then I would be delighted to leave you to it." Answers Gerald.

Hayley fights back a giggle. He always had a way to shut down her mother's uncanny remarks.

"Very well. Carry on." Says the queen.

He pays for their rooms in the inn as they prepare for the last day of the journey in order to reach their destination.

And they arrive to a warm welcome by Magdalena, queen of Finland.

"Gerald, what a fine man you have grown into! And Hayley, no wonder all the princes were falling all over you," she stops  then holds her hands to the front of her torso," Her majesty queen of Ireland, how do you do?" She greets the queen.

"Oh you have not the slightest idea majesty." She answers.

"Please, do come inside." Says queen Magdalena.

As they go inside, the queen asks if she can talk to Magdalena and they move to a private area to speak.

After the queen explains everything to Magdalena, "Oh my dear, I cannot help you i'm afraid. My king's army is only used for matters of grave urgency. But please stay for dinner." Says Magdalena.

This makes the queen distraught and she refuses to eat. What would she do now when her only allie refused to help her it being not her fault for her inability to assist?

"Where is mother?" Asks Hayley.

"She is probably tired but we have finished our talk, you can return with escort to your home." Says queen Magdalena.
