Watching his little sweet pea grow was one of the hardest moments in his life. She had not only taken after him but had some preferences of her own.
"Pa. Pa!" Yells Elsa jolting her from his thoughts.
"Yes sweet pea?" He responds.
"Have been callin yah for the past hundred years where are yah thoughts?" She asks.
"Well, its hard to think when yah only treasure is about to start attractin attention sweet pea." He says while softly nudging and winking at her.
"Oh stop pa. I don't have time for that, besides I want to be the first lass in the queen's army." She says holding her fists to her waist and her head high proudly.
This startles him and makes him blink twice before frowning and saying, "Oh you don't want that sweet pea. Lassies like yah are not welcome in a man's territory..." he pauses and thinks about how the closer she got to the queen the more dangerous it would be for them both.
"Don't worry yah head pa. I'll be fine just wait and see." She says as she carries her tools and goes on to fix the leak in their roof.
So far life in their new home was proving to be very pleasant. The locals were very welcoming and why wouldn't they be when their king was in the first place?
"What is a fine lass like yah doin up on the roof?" Asks king Haggas.
"Oh! Yah majestic. Let me come down." Says Elsa.
He chuckles at how she has reffered to him but brushes that aside.
"I was fixin up the old roof. Yah know so that when water comes down it does not pour on us." She says smiling at him.
The striking reswmblance he sees in her takes him aback but he does not voice it. "Where is yah pa or are yah fixin it alone?" He asks.
"Oh he went out to work. Tis' just me here. It's not much work." She says.
"Well lass, would yah like to ride with this old man? Maybe yah can show me where yah pa works." He says.
"I would love to yah majestic..." she starts but then he interrupts.
"Please, just call me haggas." He says.
She runs in to clean her hands and face as well as change then she gets on diablo. "Ready." She says.
The king and his guards get on their horses as well and they ride off. They pass through Lady Afric's greenery as they greet her and ride all the way to her father's work place.
Bartley after serving one of his customers turns around to put his money in his pocket and is startled when Elsa calls out to him.
"Oh sweet pea. Oh my, yah majesty, did this cheeky little lass nab yah and bring yah here on a horse?" He says jokingly.
"Pa!" She says protestingly. Which makes King Haggas laugh a little. He was stunned by the kind of relationship that this man and his daughter had.
"Oh quite. And can she ride." Adds Haggas letting out a heavy breath.
"Oh, that's me fault. She started lookin after horses when she was a wee baby." Says Bartley.
"Oh? Well, why don't yah come by the castle some time, we got some fine breeds there." Says the king.
"Really? Pa can I go?" She asks her father in delight.
"And why not? Yah might catch a prince there too." He says again jokingly.
Elsa rolls her eyes and Bartley decides to hop on behind her since he was closing up anyway.
