Days passed and not a word came from the palace. This made Olivia assume that nobody cared about her absence, not that it surprised her but boy was she wrong.

She bends over to weed the little garden she had just started when she feels a sharp pain in her abdomen and realises it was time.

"Bartley!" She shouts trying to breathe slowly and contain the pain.

He comes running and without saying a word, gets on the horse to get help.

By the time he arrives, she is already out of breath and laying on the ground clutching her abdomen.

The midwives work fast to try and save the baby and to everyone's relief, it survives, is washed and wrapped in a blanket.

Just when she is about to enjoy her moments with her baby, she hears horns far away amd realises that they have been found.

Without wasting time, she gives the baby to Bartley. He stares at her in shock refusing to leave her behind.

"Go! They will surely have our heads if they know of this." She says.

"But..." he starts, the guards are catching on.

"Promise me you will care for her like your life depends on it." She says tears in her eyes.

"Aye. Cross my heart." He replies.

And with one last look, takes to his heels and tries to drown out the sounds of the guards dragging her away back to the dungeon she had hoped to escape.

Just as he is sure that nobody is following them, he hears a little coughing sound and looks down at the baby.

"Hello there sweet pea. Now its only you and me eh? I won't let nothin happen to yah." He says and kisses the baby gently on the forehead.

Back at the palace...

"You might have saved your bastard child but you can't save yourself dearie." Says the queen with an evil smirk.

"I have saved a human. Not a selfish witch like yourself. That bastard child will grow to be the survival of this kingdom. Mark my words." Replies Olivia.

The king then raises an eyebrow and asks, "Is that any way to speak to your mother?"

"I do not have a mother. I only have a person who brought me to this earth by mistake." She replies venomously.

"Guards! Get her out of my sight!" Says the queen now seething with anger.

She is dragged away to a dark dungeon where she is to be locked and ignored until further notice.

With all the pain she is feeling, she can only hope that the two people she loved the most made it to safety. Even if she were to die, she would die knowing that her baby would have all the love and care that could ever be given.

Night falls and having dozed off, she is woken by the sound of a knock on her cell door.

"Gerald!" She gasps.

"Relax. I bring good news. Whoever your lover is, he sure is good at surviving. The guards didn't find them." He says with happiness in his voice.

"Thankyou. For everything." She replies.

"Oh don't act like a poor old sod. We will plan your escape soon. You and your loves will see each other again." He says.

With that assurance, she lets out a sigh of relief and leans back on the wall silently hoping that whatever Gerald said would come true amd soon.
