CHANEL'S POV
Chanel was very quiet at the start of lunch. She could feel the eyes and tension from the entire school as the news of her and Kayliah was spread through hushed whispers. Now she knew exactly how Shanique felt when the pictures of her had been leaked. She knew that it was only a matter of time before the pictures and videos of her and Kayliah reached the persons she was closest to and was more than embarrassed at the thought of having to sit in a meeting with the principal and board of the school like she had heard Shanique had to go through. The thought alone made her regret her journey to being brave. To avoid having Kayliah go through the embarrassment she knew exactly what she had to do. She was the one that initiated the kiss and she was the one that would fix the situation she resolved.
Kayliah was also quiet but for a different reason. She could sense a change, a sort of withdrawal in Chanel and knew that they were inevitably close to an end. In some ways it was bittersweet and she felt she had pushed her too fast and too hard into a relationship.
When they each finished picking at their chicken sandwiches and potato salad from the chef without a word they both got up and started to walk. It was a familiar walk to a familiar place. The library where Kayliah worked had always been a kind of safe haven for them and as they took their usual seat behind the books from the ancient languages section that no one ever visited, they knew this would be one of the hardest conversations of their relationship.
A/N: I'm soooo sorry guys. I was legit a mess this summer. Had summer school and I'm working full time. I know this chapter is short but I'm working to upload again by Monday. As usual, like comment and share 💚💛❤
