Chapter 7

One hour later she was stepping out her house in a baby blue Victoria secret crop top, white high waist shorts with lace running up the sides and baby blue and white SK8-HI SLIM Vans. Kayliah had refused to tell her where they were going but had hinted that she should dress how she felt most comfortable. She had also asked if it was a date to which she got a resounding no. She didn't want to seem over eager so she figured she would be 5 minutes late. When she reached Big Jay she saw Kayliah immediately. She was dressed in a cute red and grey mickey mouse jogger suit and red Jordans. Her natural, short hair was curly and dyed blond. She looked yummy! 

"Hey Chanel!" Kayliah said when she walked up and Chanel returned the greeting.

"Hey Kayliah, you gonna tell me where we going now?"

"Nah, it's a surprise. Come let's go" was her response. 

Kayliah and Chanel had a pretty easy going conversation during the drive to the mysterious location. They played 21 questions to get to know each other more and it seemed to Chanel that she was always laughing at something Kayliah had said. 

Where they ended up was a botanical garden about 15 minutes away from Big Jays. She loved flowers and was even happier that she had agreed to get out tonight. Jumping out of the black and peach  2011 Kia Optima Hybrid that Kayliah drove, they walked side by side through the inner gates of the gardens with Kayliah carrying a duffle bag. 

They chose a spot close to a clump of lilies and Kayliah took a blanket from the bag. They laid down opposite to each other on the blanket and continued playing 21 Questions.

"So if you could save only one artiste out of these four The Fray, The Script, Hozier or Lady Antebellum which would you save?"

Her answer was almost immediate "Hozier"

"Why?"

"Is that one of your 21 questions?"

"Is that one of yours?"

"Touche. I guess because he understands. When I just realized I was a lesbian his songs were what got me through besides my lover's got humor" she said with a wink. 

"Alright, your turn" was Chanel's response.

They played for a while until Kayliah pulled out a Dora lunch kit from the knapsack. Before she took out the contents she said "I don't know how you feel about me now and know this is a make or break moment about I just want to say don't judge me... My mom insisted I take these" and with that she took out some heart and star shaped cheese spread sandwiches.Chanel couldn't help the laugh that sprung from her. It was one of those laughs that come straight from your belly and have you holding your chest and gasping for air. "OMG! You cannot be serious! I legit thought you were gonna propose or something." Kayliah laughed and handed her a sandwich.

Once they ate Chanel suggested they take a walk before the garden closed. They took the first path they came to which was along a river with Chrysanthemum, Plumeria, Gazania, Tulips and water lilies. It was arranged in a way that reminded her of the rainbow and she gasped when she saw them. "This is toooo gorgeous!" she exclaimed transfixed. Kayliah nodded and when Chanel looked over she said "Yeah absolutely beautiful" but she was looking at Chanel. 

The kiss was like breathing. Natural. Instinctive. Controlled. Keeping them alive. Her lips were soft and Chanel thought she was drowning in cherry. They explored each other's lips, neither dominating until Kayliah's tongue gently probed the small space open between her lips. She opened like stockings on Christmas day and the delight and excitement she felt was equivalent. Their tongues twirled together in an intimate dance and when Kayliah started a push and pull salsa motion with her tongue she moaned loudly. 

They broke off the kiss to get air and Kayliah said "There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sins."

They continued walking and after a while the chill of the night air caused them to call it a night. Kayliah dropped her off at home and promised to text her when she reached her own.

She waited up for the text and when it came she wasn't disappointed.

Kayliah: I just got home. I hope you enjoyed the "non-date date." Good night beautiful.

Chanel: I did. Good night yourself :*

She drifted off to sleep thinking that things may not be so bad after all.
