Jeffory's POV

I check my watch as the numbers go by slowly. I don't see Gene anywhere, nor do I hear any movements. My hands start shaking from the cold, and I look hopelessly at Katelyn's pale face. Why, why was I being so selfish back then? If I didn't say those three words, Katelyn wouldn't be dying in my arms right now.

Looking around one last time, I run towards my car. I carefully lay Katelyn in the backseat, and drive away quickly towards the hospital. After about a thirty minute drive to the hospital, I get Katelyn out from the backseat, and run towards the building. I go in, and the lady at the front desk drops the papers in her hands.

"I-I... please help." I say breathlessly as she hits a button on her computer. Before I can say anything else, five doctors are at my side, placing Katelyn on a bed. "Please wait in the waiting room, we'll have Sasha here contact you when the surgery is done." One of the doctors says, and I slowly nod as they push Katelyn away to who knows where.

Sasha gives me a sad smile as I sit down in one of the chairs. I stare off into the distance, and think of all the bad things that could happen if Katelyn doesn't make it. I would live the rest of my life, knowing that Katelyn died, hating my guts.

I would be depressed, not knowing what to do with my life. Snapping me out of my thoughts, I hear Sasha say "Don't over think things, it's not good for you." I slightly chuckle, a frown still on my face. Will she be okay?

Gene's POV

I start wading through the water, hundreds of wolves on my tail. Haha, get it?.. I'm not even halfway across the river until my legs go numb. Shoot. The wolves start growling, but I keep treading through the freezing water.  I hear someone scream from aways, and the wolves snap their big heads towards the noise.

"No, no, no..." I mumble, and I walk back, closer to the wolves. They don't notice me when I start sprinting towards the screams, except for that one wolf. "I'll die trying." I say, my world slowly crumbling under my feet. "Help!" I hear a girl yell, and her voice sounds awfully familiar.

Who could it be? Walking into the little amount of light, I see her standing there. "Aphmau?!" I yell as she looks up at me. There are scratches all over her arms and face, a knife is stuck just below her ribs, and her eyes look gray. "Kitty?" I ask, and sorrow is written on her face.

"Gene." She whispers, and her eyes turn more and more gray. "Hold my hand." She whispers, her voice barely audible. I stand there in complete and utter shock about what's about to happen. "I-I won't, you're going to live." I say, my voice slightly cracking. "Hold my hand." She whispers again, her breathing uneven.

"You can't die, you won't die." I tell her, and she softly shakes her head. Right at that moment millions of memories flash through my mind, and I realize how much I'm in love with this woman.

*Cue the music* (Sorry if you can't hear it, it's called The Sun is Rising, search it up!)

I stare at her for a couple more seconds before the truth is placed right in front of me. She's not gonna make it. After a couple more quiet seconds I wish I could stay in for the rest of my life, I grab onto her hand. "Aphmau, I love you. This will haunt me for the rest of my life, just because I couldn't save you. I've loved you since the first time we met. I'm so sorry, kitty." I whisper, and she gives me her last smile I will remember for the rest of my life.

I will always love you Kitty. I hear her breathing stop, and hear a growl of a wolf right behind me.

Travis' POV

Aaron falls over, grabbing onto his chest. I watch him cautiously as he stands up, a look of horror on his face. "You okay?" I ask, and he sits on his knees, coughing up blood. "Travis, I need you to leave." He says, and I see the trees start to grow back into the ground, showing the gigantic passageway.

I slowly nod, and walk towards the passageway. "NO, NO, NO!" He yells, and I turn around quickly. He's now leaning against a tree, scratches on his face. "What has she done?" He asks himself, his jaw clenched. "Who?" I ask, and he turns towards me. "She killed her. My own mother killed her." He seethes, anger evident on his face.

Aaron grabs a dagger in his pocket, and throws it perfectly onto a tree. His hands start shaking, and his shirt starts to get soaked with blood. I don't flinch the tiniest bit, and he wraps the bandana around his eyes, pulling on his hood. "I thought I could trust my mother, I guess I was wrong." He says, and I place my hand on the gun in my pocket.

"Travis, let me just say this. If you ever find the one you love, never let her go." Aaron says, and I nod, hundreds of thoughts running through my mind. I should've protected my mother, but because of me she's gone. "Thank you Aaron. I hope to see you again someday." I tell him, and even though he's not facing me, a small smirk is probably on his face.

"You too Travis. Tell Katelyn I'm sorry." He says, and I'm taken aback by what he said. "Katelyn, the girl you're in love with. Aphmau's best friend; tell her I'm sorry." He says, and I nod while making my way through the passageway. He was always so blunt.

Katelyn's POV

All I see is darkness, slowly being eaten away by the small amount of light entering the room. I can't feel my arms, nor legs. I don't even know if I'm breathing. All light enters the room, and an unfamiliar being stands in front of me, their back facing me.

"You've finally opened your eyes Katelyn." It says, and the voice sound familiar, yet it sounds unfamiliar at the same time. "Katelyn... You're slowly dying on a hospital bed right now. The doctors have had to revive you so many times, it's unbelievable how your body seems to slowly heal itself. It's now your decision if you'll let the doctors and your body heal you, or you can throw your life away, and it'll just be a long lost memory." The voice says, and I seem to be sitting there, looking over what has happened the last seventeen years.

It seems as though nobody loves me, not even my best friend who I've known for five years. It seems as though everything I've been through is slowly falling out of my own fingertips.

I can't live like that anymore.... Yet I can't let go this feeling for him, no matter how hard I try. "I want to live." Is all I say, and the human standing in front of me turns around. And my best friends' eyes stare into mine. She smiles at me, and before I can say anything, darkness surrounds me.
