Holy moly, what the heck happened last chapter?! Katelyn's alive, but that potion might've messed with her memory. *wink wink nudge nudge* Hope you're all having a fabulous day! :)

Enjoy!

Jeffory's POV

"Who are you?"

I stare at her, wide eyed. Her tone is dead serious, and silence makes its way into the room. "Y-You don't know who I am?" I ask, and I hear the door open from feet away. The nurse walks in, and she has to double take by the sight of Katelyn being fully healthy.

Well then, this is awkward. I continue to stare at Katelyn, finding my heart slowly breaking itself into bits and pieces. "Well, we thought you were dead Katelyn... I guess we're going to have to tell her about her father passing away..." I barely hear the nurse mumble, and I frown.

Her father's dead? Am I going to laugh at her again like I did last time? I inhale, no I won't. I will never hurt her again. "Who are you?" Katelyn repeats herself, and I watch as the nurse takes off multiple wires and tubes at a time. Katelyn seems unfazed.

"My name is Jeffory. Katelyn... Don't you remember me?" I ask, and she slowly shakes her head. She gets out of the hospital bed, no more wires or tubes. Dang, she looks perfect. "How do you know my name? Where's Travis? Or Dad?" She asks these questions, and I find myself staring at her bare legs.

Not out of lust, I just remember when we were in the eight grade, she fell off the bleachers at the football game and cut her leg badly. The cut was now nowhere to be seen. The nurse walks up behind Katelyn, putting her hand on her shoulder. "Put these clothes on sweetie. We'll get you some food, and then find who you're looking for." The nurse says, and after Katelyn walks into the bathroom, I fall onto a chair.

The nurse sighs before asking me something, "You used the healing potion, didn't you?" I nod, wondering how she knows what it is.

It's been a whole hour since Katelyn woke up. All we've been doing is eating food at the hospital cafeteria, somehow Katelyn and the nurse keep holding coversation. And in my mind I've summed up what's happened in the last two weeks.

Katelyn got attacked by wolves, because of how ignorant I was. Katelyn was in a coma for two weeks because I said I hated her out of pride. Katelyn's father is now dead because of what I did to Katelyn. All of this happened because of me.

My mother used to tell me about how guilty she felt sometimes. When she didn't make dinner, or didn't wake up in time to drop the kids off at school. She pleaded to dad for forgiveness, and dad only laughed. "If it's just the little mistakes that tear you away with guilt, maybe you're too kindhearted. There is only guilt to remind you that you're human... Meaning you can always make up for your mistakes."

Times were nicer then. Dad wasn't sleeping around with other women, and Mom... She actually cared about us and loved us like mothers should. But happiness that is so strong can never last long. And I feel tears on my cheeks. Actual tears.

"Are you okay Jeffory?" Katelyn's concerned voice actually sounds real, until I realize she forgot who I am. Will she ever love me again? Will it ever be like old times where I could hold her in my arms? I nod, wiping away the tears with my torn up sleeve. I probably need a shower.

Katelyn finishes her food, and we all make our way out of the cafeteria. Time for the moment of truth. Time to let Katelyn know that I murdered her father. Her last blood and actual family. Maybe I could be her new family? I mentally slap myself.
