Jefflyn - Love Is A Strong Word

Chapter Five

Gold's POV

"I keep getting these vibes, like something bad is happening." I whisper to Joslyn, and she nods, not paying attention. "Joslyn?" I ask, and she turns towards me. "Gold, I know it's really early in the morning, but I think we should go to the hospital." She tells me, and I give her a questioned look.

"Why?" I ask, and she opens the curtains in my room. "It's starting to rain, we should hurry. Get your shoes on." She whispers, and I don't question her while slipping on some shoes. I quietly walk out of my room, and Joslyn is standing at the doorway with her keys in her hands. "Hurry." She whispers, and when we start driving, she zooms down the freeway to the hospital.

Jeffory's POV

"Code blue!" I hear one of the doctors yell through the wall, and my heart skips a beat. If she dies, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I sit there silently, hundreds of bad scenarios running through my head. I blink slowly, and look up to see Gold and Joslyn running through the doors.

What are they doing here?! "Jeffory! Why are you here?!" Gold asks, and I don't say a word. "Is-Is Katelyn okay?" Joslyn asks, and it takes me so much strength just to shake my head. She frowns, not asking anything else, and she sits down next to me.

"She'll make it out, I know she will." Gold whispers, sitting on the other side of me. Even if she does live, she'll still hate me. "Jeffory- please don't think about what could happen badly." Joslyn says, and I feel my hands start to slowly shake. "Joslyn? Can't you see that even if she lives, she'll still hate me? What I said to her was stupid, and I hate myself for laughing at her. She'll never love me." I whisper back to her, getting frustrated really quickly.

There's no light at the end of this tunnel. I'm just stuck in this darkness, alone. "Jeffory- Jeffory!" Joslyn starts yelling at me, making me look her in the eye. "WHAT?!" I yell back at her, and suddenly she becomes ticked off with my behavior.

"Jeffory, she doesn't hate you! She's trying to forgive you, but you keep pushing her away! You want her to live so you can show her how much you actually love her! You keep lying to each other like it's not a problem, but it's actually ruining both of your guys' lives!" Joslyn yells at me, and I stand up from my chair, and walk straight out of the hospital.

Travis' POV

I swiftly grab onto the tree branch behind me, the sound of howling echoing through the forest. The rain falling onto me gives me the chills, but I just hang there, determined to find Katelyn. Falling onto the ground, I feel a sharp pain shoot into my right leg.

Before I realize what's happening, I feel two people pick me up by the arms. "Geez Wilson, you didn't have to shoot him with an arrow." One of them says, and I go wide eyed. They shot me in the leg?! I try to say something, but they cover my mouth with an awful smelling cloth. "It's fine Drake, do you know how much money we'll get when we turn this sucker in?" Wilson replies, chuckling a little. "I know, I know, four million dollars..." Drake groans, getting tired of waiting.

My nose twitches at what he says, my hands slightly shaking. Four freaking million dollars?! I mean, I'm hot and all, but four million dollars? I know, my father was an evil man, and my mother- my mother was a great woman, but come on! One of them kicks me, and before my face collides with the ground, I black out.

Joslyn's POV

"Excuse me ma'am, are you here to visit Katelyn Azura?" A woman asks, and I snap out of my daze. "Um- Yes. Is she okay?" I ask a little too impatiently, and the lady sighs. "Well, she's not looking too great right now, but it'll take a couple weeks, even maybe months for the damage to heal." The lady says, and a happy, yet sorrow look makes its way onto my face.

Well, at least she didn't die. "You can come see her, but it's mostly tubes and wires covering her..." She says, and I stand up, Gold right by my side. "Yes! I mean- thank you." Gold says, shaking his head, a smile on his face. "Follow me." The lady says, and I finally catch her name by the name tag on her scrubs.

Sasha... The name sounds familiar. Following her, she takes us to the third floor, and we walk into room 284. And I see the same blue haired girl that Jeffory's in love with. But no matter what happens, she'll never be able to take back those three words she said to Jeffory... And Jeffory will never forget.

Aaron's POV

I start breathing heavily, my mother's eyes staring at the back of my head. "Aaron... You don't have to be this way. You didn't love her, it was a fickle mistake." She laughs, and I turn around, tears stinging in my eyes.

"How do you know love when you see it? You don't even love your own husband, you selfish-" I start to yell, but she shuts me up when she pulls out Aphmau's jacket. "That's not the way to treat your mother. Well, there's always consequences for your actions." She says, and pulls a lighter out of her other pocket.

She puts the fire closer to the sweater, and it quickly burns to nothing but ashes. "You monster- you knew!!" I yell furiously, sprinting towards her. I'm tempted to hit her, but she's my mother. Instead of hitting her, I pull a potion out of my pocket, and toss it at her. She falls onto the ground, and I go wide eyed.

What potion did I just throw?

Jeffory's POV

I regret leaving the hospital. Joslyn called me, and told me that Katelyn is doing okay, but it'll take a couple weeks or even months for the wounds to heal. She also told me to take a break, not think about anything for at least a whole hour.

Truth be told, I can't not think about Katelyn. She's the girl that made me kind. She's the girl that would take anyone in a fight. She's the girl I fell in love with. That explains why I'm sitting at the subway, waiting for a train to take me to my mother's house.

My mom... Well, she and my dad were not the perfect couple, that explains why they got divorced. My dad kind of cheated on her, and my mom being the nicest person there was... was heartbroken. They made me take counseling for two whole years, just to make sure I was okay with what was happening at the time.

Katelyn helped me through that, a lot. She helped me, Gold, and Joslyn actually. That's why the two of them love her to death... And that's one of the billions of reasons why I love her too. But, she hates me, so... I don't know what is going to happen to- well, us. Snapping me out of my thoughts, I hear the train pull up. And it may have just been the last time I get to see Katelyn ever again.
