Her New Mommy

Together

That morning when I woke up, my head was pounding and my stomach felt like it was about to burst. Without thinking, I jumped up from the floor and rushed toward the bathroom. It wasn't long before I heard Andrea knocking on the other side. 

"Hey you okay?" she asked me. 

"Does it sound like I'm okay?" I said rolling my eyes. 

"Don't roll your eyes at me! I know you too well," she said causing me to laugh. 

"Just go get me some Tylenol."

"Okayyyyyy."

After flushing the toilet and washing my mouth I made my way to the kitchen. Andrea hands me two Tylenol's and some water and I don't hesitate in taking them. 

"Since we called in from work this morning, what are you going to do?"

"I'm going to go see Jasmine after she gets off from school and then be with Cole for the night. Do you mind if I borrow the apartment tonight? I want to cook him dinner and you know, maybe some other things," I said winking at her. 

"Hell yeah! You go get your sexy on. I'll just go to William's tonight so that you don't have any interruptions." 

"Thanks, boo," I said giving her a hug.

After we pulled apart she announced that she was going to take a shower so I took that moment to call Cole. 

A- Hey Cole, whatcha doing? 

C-  Hey babe, I'm working right now but I can take a little break for you. What's up? 

A- Nothing, Andrea and I just woke up and I thought I wou-

C- Wait, you guys just woke up? It's already like 2 o'clock. 

A- Yeah we, ugh, had quite the night so we called in from work. But anyway before I was so rudely interrupted, I wanted to know if you wanted to spend the night tonight. I'll cook us dinner and wait for you by the door, you know, be the picture of domesticity. 

 C- I think that is an amazing idea. I get off at like 7 so I'll be around yours at about 7:30, that okay? 

A- I'll be waiting. Oh, I wanted to ask you one more thing. Would it be okay if I picked up Jas from school today and took her to your mom's for you? I want to spend some time with her today. 

C- I wouldn't want anything more. I'll text you the address. I gotta go but I'll see you later, love you. 

A- I love you too, bye. 

C- Bye babe.

I wasn't long before 2:45 rolled around and I was making my way to the school. I picked up Jasmine and drove her to her grandma's house. I spent time with both Linda and Jasmine and couldn't help but think about my own mom and how I wished she could be here with me but Linda was sweet to me and treated me like her own. The whole day we were watching movies and baking cookies and just having a really great time. Too soon, it rolled around to 5:30 and I had to leave this precious girl and amazing woman. 

As I was walking to the door I pulled Jas with me, "Hey baby girl I want to tell you something okay?" I asked her.

"What do you want to tell me?"

"I want you to know that I love you very much and that I really like being your mommy."

"I like you being my mommy too," she said with the biggest smile ever.
