"Six months?!" exclaimed both Andrea and Linda after I showed them the ring as well as inform them when we wanted to get married. I flung my arms around wildly trying to get them to calm down seeing as though we are in a small, public coffee shop.
"I know it's early but we both decided that we wanted an autumn wedding," therefore have decided to plan it for November, which is only six months away.
"But you can't plan a wedding in only six months! There is so much preparation needed for it like finding the venue, tasting the food, the decor, the dress, oh my god, the dress!" exclaimed Andrea running her hands through her hair.
"We're aware of that and we have already begun looking, we really like this venue that allows us to have the reception and ceremony in the same area. The ceremony would be in a garden gazebo and the reception is a hall they have," I told them smiling as I remembered the photos of the venue.
"And your dress?" chimed in Linda.
"I was hoping you guys would help me pick one," I asked shyly.
"Of Course we will!! OMG, we should go like now, right now," said Andrea jumping up and down enthusiastically while clapping her hands.
"Wait, right now?" I asked in surprise.
"Oh yes dear, the wedding is only six months away and there isn't that much time left so we can't waste any more time. I'll go get the car and wait for you two outside," Linda said before exiting the shop.
Once she was out of earshot Andrea said, "you know, I just met her and I already like her, you really lucked out."
"I know, she's a really great mom to Cole and grandmother to Jasmine, she's amazing," I told her sincerely.
We walked out of the coffee shop and into the awaiting car and made our way to the nearest bridal shop. Once we entered the shop my eyes widened in awe and my jaw fell slightly open. Everywhere I turned there were beautiful gowns, all different types, mermaid, ball gown, I was in love.
"Oh shit, I think I should get married too just so that I can try on dresses," Andrea said with the same awe-struck look on her face.
"You don't need a ring to try on wedding dresses," I told her.
"I know but it would be sad if I tried on dresses that serve no purpose," she said.
"Don't you worry dear, I've known Will his whole life and he talks about you so much. In all of his 25 years of life, I've never seen him speak that way about a girl before, you have him wrapped around your pinky. I'm positive that if you asked him to jump he would ask you how high," Linda told her.
Andrea looked at her with wide eyes and a red face, "are you serious?"
"Sweetheart, I don't lie," she replied with a small smirk. Before either of us could respond an associate came up to us with a smile,
"Hello my name is Ethel, would you like some champagne?" she said as another employee came over with a tray of champagne flutes. "So, what brings you all to my shop today?"
"My best friend is looking for a wedding dress!" said Andrea.
"How exciting! So I am assuming you're the best friend," she said pointing to Andrea, "and you're her mother?"
"Um, well I'm her soon to be mother-in-law."
"But, she is the closest thing I have to a mom," I chimed in.
"I think that's fabulous. Do you have any ideas in mind?"
"Um...not really, whatever you have in mind."
