If you like, you can listen to "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" by The Offspring, "Riot" by Three Days Grace, or "Comatose" by Skillet (Its a song) for the end of this chapter. I love the song, and the music fits farely well with the adrenaline rush of the chapter.
*****-= play music.
Enjoy :)

I stared down a gun pointed directly at my chest, waiting for death. My heart beat rapidly in my ears, my pulse quickening, skipping a beat every now and then.
I've dealt with people pointing a gun at me, even opening fire, but I have never been as terrified as I am now. This is the first time I'm not sure if I will make it out of here alive.
Will I?
"What are those girls doin' out?" The first men, a gun pointed at Ash and Jen, nodded to us three women.
"I was taking them back," Ashton said, sounding surprisingly calm. "I caught 'em."
The first men let down his guard a bit, dropping his gun slightly. The other man cleared his throat. "I don't trust 'im. This guy's been acted a bit weird lately."
The first man shrugged.
The second coughed into his hand, looking back at us. "I don't think we should let 'em go." The first man refused to say anything.
"Come on," Ashton said, walking closer to them. "You know the things I've been sayin'. Their true. And imagine, if these girls were yours, wouldn't you want me to bring them back?"
The two men looked two eachother, scrunching their eyebrows. I crinkled my nose, suddenly realizing how much it stunk in here; I've been busy caught up on an adrenaline rush.
The two men shrugged, and stepped aside, letting us through. Ashton stepped behind us, putting an arm around me and one around Ash, Jen stuck in the middle of us. Ashton led us past the men, nodding his thanks to them as we walked. I tried to look scared, and Jen and Ash did too; they probably were utterly frightened by the fact they were stuck with another man.
As soon as we were around the corner, Ashton let us go. He took a deep breath, and I turned to him. "Nice acting," I whispered, and he smiled.
He looked around the corner, waiting for the men to be gone. He waved to us to follow, and we walked as quietly as we could. We approached the room I remember as the Dinner room, where Mia and I were locked for hours on end, where I learned the most important information I've ever found on this case.
I heard whimpering inside, as Ashton fiddled with a key. "Do all the keys fit the same lock?" Jen asked him.
He nodded. "Most of the rooms do, except about 20%. We're lucky his is the same as mine; be thankful." Ashton swung the door open, revealing a gory sight.
Mia; handcuffed to the bed posts, cuts and bruises all over her. she was only in her bra and panties, her clothes in a rumpled heat by the closet. She was crying, her tears mixing into the blood from the cuts on her face.
I rushed over to her, immediately finding the key for the handcuffs in the drawer and unlocking them. Her wrists had a band of bruises and cuts around them from the harsh metal. Ashton brought her the wrinkled pile of clothes, and I made a mental note to get her warmer, more comfortable ones as soon as we got out. I helped her pull them on, and Ash and Jen attempted to calm her down after shutting the door.
"Mia," I breathed, helping her stand on her sore, shaky feet. "What the hell happened?"
"He happened." She choked out. "P-punishment."
I set my jaw and took her arm. "Well, look on the Brightside. We're getting out." Her face immediately lit up, smiling, even though on the inside I could tell she was screaming.
"It's time," Ashton said. "The fight is going to die down; we need to go."
I nodded to him and took Mia's arm. "Can you run?"
"Enough to live," She chuckled lightly, grimacing.
****I nodded and looked around me at the people standing before me. Jen and Ash; the two girls willing to try to escape, even though they might be killed. Mia; the smart, small, damaged girl, yet brave. And Ashton, the boy who I used to hate. The one who was cowardly when starting this operation, this case, but now has come out a mature, brave man.
I could only imagine the things he's been through since we were brought into this hell of a home.
"Allons-y," Ashton said. I raised my eyebrow at him. "It's French, for Let's Go. Allons-y."
I nodded and followed him out the door, into the eye of the storm; the center of the riot, the only calm place in the building. "Got your gun?" He asked me, and I nodded. Jen and Ash still had their wood, and Ashton had his gun.
We ran into the hall, together, Mia in the middle of us. Ashton led the group, and I brought up the rear. I could hear the roar of violence coming nearer and nearer as we ran to freedom. I heard gunshots, and looked over my shoulder. No one was there, but a shadow was approaching. "SOMEONE'S COMING, ASHTON!" I screamed.
Ashton nodded and screamed, "FIRE!" I looked behind me, fired two shots, one hitting the figure in the process.
We rounded a corner, running into more people, but Ashton fired. He hit a few men, as did I, but enough still stood, ready to stop us. Jen and Ash swung their wood planks, smacking a few in the head. Yet still, some ran after us. I heard gunshots from behind us, and we rounded an empty corner into an empty hallway.
"Everyone okay?" Mia gasped.
A chorus of "Yes" rang from us.
Suddenly, a figure rounded the corner and I pointed my gun at him. We heard two shots; but I had only fired one of them.
The man was dead and gone, but where had the second gone?
Suddenly, I heard Mia gasp. For right beside her, where Ash had been sitting, Ash now sat slumped against the wall, a bullet hole in her chest. She smiled lightly as her eyes closed for the last time.
Jen screamed, flinging herself onto her friend, but Ashton held her back. "We have to move, unless you want to die too."
She nodded and wiped her tears with her hand, and we started forward again, running away from the death we had just witnessed.
I'll never forget the sight of the life leaving the girl's eyes.
We ran forward, more shots fired at us. None of us were hit.
We rounded yet another corner, and we came to the final extremely long hallway leading us to our freedom. I heard a gunshot, a gasp, and another gun shot. I stopped and spun around, seeing Ashton pointing his gun somewhere in the distance and Jen at his feet.
Jen had a bullet hole in her head, the life in her eyes already gone.
My heart wrenched, realizing that I could have kept these girls behind, I could have prevented their terrible deaths. But I didn't.
I should have.
But I didn't.
I stood frozen, staring at Jen's now deceased body. Ashton ran up to me, look me in the eyes, his wide. "Let's go!" He screamed.
I didn't move.
"MOVE!" Ashton bellowed, grabbing my hand and dragging me forward until I broke out into a sprint.
We ran toward the exit, panting, shots fired at us. But neither of us three remaining people fell; not one of us gave up. We could taste the freedom we were about to break out into.
We finally broke into the open, but heard a gunshot. I didn't notice, and neither did Ashton as we ran around the corner and smiled at the openness.
But then we heard panting, and I turned to Mia. She was a few meters behind us, her hand on her stomach.
Blood was seeping through the fingers.
