"Might not be false?" I asked. I was almost certain that the things Styles told me had to be false, but maybe I just didn't want to believe it.

Ashton shifted his position on the seat and looked at me. "Maybe. I mean, think about it. This guy is almost untraceable- we've got almost nothing on him in the records. Well, what you and I found anyways. He could have easily had Zayn or someone erase him from the records in order to be persuaded to help them catch the men. I don't know, but-"

"He did say that he had a bad record and could be going for revenge."

"What?" Ashton said, stopping his rant dead in its tracks as soon as I opened my mouth.

"Well," I said. "I did say that Styles visited. He told me all this stuff on Louis, but I thought it was crap."

"Like what?" Ashton said, his eyes widening, looking at me and awaiting an answer. I looked down at my feet.

"He said that- apparently- was a sketchy figure growing up, especially in high school and after. Styles said that he was allegedly expelled from school for allegedly making a sex tape. He has been caught for DUI's and minor crimes here and there, and Styles said that he is trying to- and I quote- 'Go for the big guns, murder.' Styles thinks that he could be going after his sister's murderer, to get revenge or something. Could qualify for second identity."

"Exactly what I mean. Maybe he is a potential person for that list of one."

I nodded and looked back to my hands, remembering the time when I thought he should have been on the top of that suspect list. Ashton sighed and finally turned on the igniton.

Then I remembered the other thing Styles had said.

"Ashton!" I shouted, and Ashton slammed on the brakes, our heads snapping forward for a second from the brake check.

"Dear God, Carmen! What happened?"

"Styles said one other thing," I said, my heart thumping with a lead. "He has the location of the warehouse, and says its ours when I get out of jail."

"Why didn't you tell me this?" He smiled. I shrugged and smiled back. Ashton kept his foot on the brake and reached over and grabbed my face and pulled it to his. The beautiful moment ended as abruptly as it started, but not without waiting a couple seconds.

He pulled away and we both blushed multiple shades of red, and he took his foot off of the brake and continued driving. He smiled like an idiot a lot of the drive, and I had a feeling I was too. I didn't even remember where we were going.

"Ashton, where are we going?"

Ashton chuckled and looked over and smiled before looking back to the road and turning left. "The office, of course. We need to get this overwith."

I nodded and looked out at the cars that passed by us. I wondered if each person's life was like ours, or if it was just as hard to have kids at home than it is to try to solve a crime every now and then. Do other people get to meet as many people as we do? Do other people see as much death as we do?

Is life as hard for them as it is for us?

Perhaps in its own ways that it is hard, but... I'm not sure.

Ashton finally pulled into the parking lot, ripping me out of the philosophical world I was previously wandering in. He turned off the ignition and smiled at me before getting out of the car. I was about to open my door when he clicked the lock button, locking me in. I was surprised for a split second, wondering why he did so, but then he ran around the car and tripped in the time it took me to manually unlock my door. He yanked open the car door, and let me out of the car, acting like a gentleman.

I laughed and got out of the car, and he shut the door behind me. We walked towards the building while I wondered why he did all of this for me.

He even opened the building's door for me, earning a look from one of the workers inside. We walked through the building and eventually, reached Styles's doors, our minds and attitudes and actions becoming more and more serious along the way.

The secretary made us sit for a few minutes as she finished what she was doing and called him, and then waited a few seconds before telling us that he was ready for us to see him.

I pushed in the door and saw Styles sitting there, his hands together, a smug smile plastered on his face. "Out so soon, James?" He said.

"Look," I said, pulling up a chair. "I'm here for what you promised."

"Promised?" He said, looking confused, even though his voice oozed sarcasm.

"Yes," I continued. "The location of the warehouse."

Harry nodded and spun once in his chair. "Look here, Fray," He said to Ashton. "I don't know why you're here. Hell, she would still be rotting in that cell if it weren't for you being so smitten." I could feel the tension in the room, and I could see Ashton's hand clench the armrest out of the corner of my eye. "She tried to kill you, man. What are you doing?" Styles continued. "I don't know about you, but I think-"

"You know, I don't really give a shit about your input." Ashton said, his voice filled with anger.

"Ooh," Styles said. "Looks like I hit a few nerves." He laughed and spun in his chair once more.

"Just give us the goddamn location already, Styles." I said, trying to prevent myself from getting angry.

Styles chuckled once more while getting a paper out of the desk and handing it to me. "Careful with that, James." He said. "Don't let Ashton here get his hands on that. He'll probably would tear it up from the anger."

I sighed angrily and stood up, walking to the door. I was halfway there when I noticed that Ashton hadn't gotten up. "Ashton?" I said. "Ashton, come on."

He stood up, a scowl on his face, shoving the chair back. He followed me out of the room, slamming the door so hard that I thought the door would fall off its hinges.
