I have half a chapter somewhere explaining it.
War angels look nothing like the angels in the bible.
There are 2 kinds of angels.
War which have grey skin and are breed for doing heavens dirty work.
Then the human angels which are the ones you pray to. The ones with super white wings and answer your prayers. They handle the human work or well being the clean face of heaven.
Dirk , dave and bro were the blood line of the war angels doing dirty shit. Gene splicing of humans, demons and angels. Now i did not say it was bro himself but it was close maybe an aunt or uncle maybe even great grandmother.
So yes gamzee is an angel but he is not a super kind one you think the white feathered ones are. He is war doing the dirty work. Being dirty is their job guys. Most are Evil, love killing, and crude now not all karkat wouldn't be to bad. Its all depending how they take it.
