Daisy's P.O.V
When i got back to my apartment, I realized that I didn't have a bathing suit.
Then my phone went off, I had a new text. Fear set in at the thought of it being Derek. I went over and checked my phone "Meet us back here at 1 Joey" phew.
It was 11 right now, so I had enough time to run to target and get a bathing suit, then make it back here in time. I hopped in the shower and washed my hair. When I got out, I changed into sweats and dried my hair upside down, leaving it in beach waves. I put on some water proof mascara and Chapstick, and grabbed my keys and went out the door.
As I passed by Patrick in the lobby, he simply waved to me and gave me a friendly smile. But hey, better then him trying to get in my pants. I waved back and continued on my merry way.
When I got to target, I of course got sidetracked and ended up in the make-up isle looking at nail polish. I picked out a light pink color, and finally made it to the bathing suit section.
I just picked out a mint green bikini. Nothing too special. After all I wasn't exactly comfortable with showing that much skin. Then I realized I would need a towel, and some sunscreen, and a beach bag.
After I had gathered all of the items on my imaginary shopping list, I also threw in a pair of black flip-flops, a light blue lose crop top and a pair of black high waisted shorts to wear over my bathing suit, I was ready to go and still had a good 45 minutes to get home and get ready.
After this adorable old woman named Jackie rang up my items, I proceeded to my truck. And since it was LA, I got stuck in traffic for 15 minutes, even though I lived like 5 minutes away from target.
When I finally made it home, it was almost 1 so I had to rush to get dressed and throw everything into my bag.
Thankfully, you couldn't really see my ribs when I was wearing my bathing suit. Just some of my hip bones. But it's not like I'm anorexic so not many of my bones showed.
When I was finally ready, I practically ran next door and made it at 1:00 on the dot! Go me!
Right as I was about to knock, Sawyer opened the door and kinda jumped when he saw me.
Okay he may have screamed like a little girl, but it was actually really funny! "Daisy! You scared the crap out of me!" Sawyer said catching his breath from his horrible scare...wow...
"Sorry Sawyer I didn't mean to scare you!" I smiled a bit "I will only forgive on one condition" he replied with a devious smile "Umm...that depends in the condition.." I said backing away a little "You have to give me a hug!" He said in a matter-of-fact tone.
I'm not really big on hugs...but I guess I will have to get used to it. Before I could say anything, Sawyer quickly pulled me close to him and squeezed me as tight as he could.
But thankfully it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would cause my bruises were finally starting to heal.
But I sucked up the pain. I need to stop being so weak. It's bad enough that Joey already saw me in the middle of one if my night mares and I broke down and cried on his shoulder. I can't ever be that vulnerable. It doesn't matter who it's with.
"Woah there Sawyer. Let the poor girl breathe" Joey said as he walked up to the door. I could've sworn I saw a hint of jealousy in his eyes but he recovered before I could identify it any further.
"Hey it's her own fault for scaring me like that!" Sawyer said back, his cheeks still a light pink color from getting so worked up. "Enough chit chat boys. Lets head to the beach! I'm driving!" I needed to get used to the traffic here, and I actually enjoyed driving a lot. It helped me keep focused on only one thing. "Oh come on! I don't want to go to the beach in some little pink, punch biggie!" Sawyer groaned. "Punch biggie, really?" I asked. "Yeah. Really" he said as we walked down the hall. "We'll just see about that, now won't we" I said to myself and smiled.
*****
"Wait, this is what you drive?!" Joey said a bit shocked at the sight of the gigantic GMC pick up truck. "Yeah. Got a problem?"
"No. I just would've never assumed that a sweet girl like you would drive such a...large..vehicle" I hope he doesn't think I'm a bad driver. And at least he didn't have the same reaction that I knew Sawyer was hiding.
I never really understood why men where attracted to women who drive nice cars and trucks, but I just found it highly annoying. It's just a truck. Get over it.
We climbed in the truck, me in the drivers seat, Joey in the passengers seat, and Sawyer in the backseat. Okay, so maybe its not a punch biggie..." sawyer said. i just laughed and we began out journey to the beach.
"So is this Tyler person meeting us there or.." I asked. I wonder who Tyler is. I hope hes not some big jerk with huge muscles and and even bigger ego. "No. He's going to meet us there" Sawyer said looking out the window at the trees that passed as Joey told me how to get to the beach.
