Chapter 27: Worthless

Daisy's P.O.V

"Why are you crying love?" He said as he pulled me into his lap and moved the grapes from in between us.

"It's nothing" I said as I looked down and noticed the bruises on my arm from Derek. That's when I remembered about my photo shoot tomorrow.

"Daisy please tell me. I can't try and fix it if I don't know what's wrong." He said and hugged me. "Nothing's wrong. It's just I've never had someone care so much. I've always just been worthless" I shrugged and looked up at him.

"Don't say that. Your not worthless. You are everything to me. And we just started started dating like 23 minutes ago. You mean the world to me Daisy" he said in a serious, yet loving tone.

"You really mean it?" Even though I trust him, I still don't think it's possible for someone to love me that much. I'm just a nobody.

"Forever and always, right?"

"Always and forever" I nodded and kissed him. It lasted a while, but as usual, it wasn't a heated kiss. We weren't in desperate need of each other, and we didn't rush it. We kissed slowly and passionately, savoring each moment as our lips melted together and moved perfectly in sinc.

"Daisy?" He asked when he pulled away from the kiss "Joseph?" I knew it annoyed him when I called him that, but he never told me to stop.

"Would you do me the honor of accompanying me on a date, tonight?" He asked in a fancy accent "Why yes. I would be delighted too" I had managed to copy his accent.

Then I remembered about the photo shoot "But I don't know when I will be back. I have to be somewhere at 8am" I was so excited to finally start my life. "Where do you have to be?" A look of Curiosity was bold in his eyes.

"Well me and Tyler went shopping yesterday at Forever 21, and the manager of display noticed me in the dressing rooms when Tyler and I had a little fashion show, and she said that she would like me to come in for a test shoot, and if all goes well then she's going to offer me the job"

"Daisy that's great!" Joey jumped off of the counter and pulled me into a hug. He picked me up and spun me around and I giggled. I'm glad he was happy for me.

For the rest of the afternoon, we cuddled on the couch together and watched anime. I've never watched any anime before, but it was interesting. "Hey Joey?"

"Yeah?" He looked away from the screen and down at me. "Who were you on the phone with earlier? You know before you had that 'life threatening fall'" I said with air quotes at the end.

"Okay, I could've died!" He shifted in his seat so he was facing me "I'm sure you could've" I smiled at him innocently.

"I was on the phone with the police...about Derek" I could hear the uneasy tone in his voice at the thought of that beast. "Oh. Do they know where he is?"

"No. No, he's still out there. And I'm not leaving your side until they find him." I could see the anger full his eyes and he took my hand and squeezed it tightly. I know he didn't mean to hurt me, but it kind of did.

I pulled away slightly, and of course, he noticed "What is it..?" His features softened "Oh nothing" I looked down. I didn't want him to know. He didn't mean it. "Did I...did I hurt you?" He whispered. "No I'm fine it's ok" I put my hands on both of his cheeks and tried to reassure him "I'm sorry..I-I didn't mean it" he mumbled as he got up and went up stairs.

When he made it up, I heard a door slam. "Lets just give him a minute to cool down" I said as I rubbed Rocco's back.
