Chapter 17: Luke

Daisy's P.O.V

When I arrived a the apartment complex, I parked my truck and just sat in the drivers seat. 'Come on Daisy. Pull yourself together' my subconscious spoke to me.

I wiped away my tears, and got out and went to the back of my truck. I was going to hve to make a few trips if I wanted to get all of this paint inside.

"Hay Daisy" I heard a friendly, familiar voice say behind me. "Hey Sawyer" I said as I turned around. I saw Sawyer, with another man, a few inches taller than him, and he had light brown hair and blue eyes.

"Hi I'm Luke" he introduced himself while reaching out his hand to shake mine. "Daisy" I said I shook his hand back.

"What you got there girl?" Sawyer asked as he looked in the bed of the truck at all of the paint gallons and brushes.

"Paint. I figured it's time to decorate my apartment and make it like home" I said. "Do you need help carrying anything?" Luke asked. He seems really sweet. "Sure. Put those muscles to use boys" I said as I walked off with a gallon of paint in each hand.

"Dude she's hot! Who is that?!?!" I heard Luke exclaim to Sawyer "That's Daisy. And back off. She's like a little sister to me!" Sawyer said to Luke. I couldn't hear anything else after that.

I'm glad Sawyer said that, cause he's like a brother to me. We weren't that close, but it feels like we have known each other for forever.

As I got up to my apartment, I noticed an envelope taped to my door. "Daisy" it said in black cursive writing. I took it off and put it into my purse. I'll read it later.

I walked in, leaving the door open for Sawyer and Luke, and Rocco was really excited to see me. I put the paint down and started to pet him when he growled and barked. "Hey buddy" Sawyer said as he walked in. Rocco liked him now, so they were cool.

Luke on the other hand, not so much. "Uhm....is this your dog?" Luke asked, still standing in the door "Yep. I adopted him. He was a stray"

"Yeah that's wonderful, but can you ask him not to kill me please?" Luke said. "Sure. Come here." I said as I took his hand and brought him inside. I shut the door behind me an told Luke to put the rest of the paint in the living room. As he walked by, Rocco watched his every move, snarling at him. "Oh hush you big bear" I said to him.

I grabbed Luke's hand and held it out for Rocco to smell.

A few minutes later, Luke and Rocco were playing while Sawyer sat on the couch on his phone. "I'm bored. What do you guys want to do?" Sawyer asked. "Excuse me but who said I wanted to hang out with you too?!" I said to Luke and Sawyer. Sarcastically, of course.

"Nobody said you wanted to. That's why we are kidnapping you" Sawyer said in a playful voice as he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder.w

"Luke, would you be a dear and get the door for me?" Sawyer asked "Why of course" Luke said as he opened the door. Sawyer then walked to the elevator and pressed the button. When the doors opened, he set me down inside. "Where are we-"

"shhh" Sawyer said as he pressed his finger to my lips "It's a secret" Luke whispered. When the doors opened, Luke lifted me up bridal-style and we went to sawyers car and sawyer opened the door as Luke put me in the front seat.

After they got in the car, I asked "Guys were are you-" I was cut off again "Shhhhhhhhhhhhh" Luke shushed me. And this was no ordinary shush. It was like a professional shush. Like he must have gone to shush school. "It's top secret information" Sawyer finished Luke's sentence.

After driving for about five minutes, we pulled up at a frozen yogurt place. Usually I can go days without eating and not being hungry, but today I was hungry again. And believe me, I'm not complaining.

We got inside and ordered. I got orange frozen yogurt, with almonds, granola, and strawberries. Luke and Sawyer on the other hand, both got vanilla frozen yogurt, with almost every topping they had there. We sat outside to eat.

"Mmmm this looks so good!" Luke said. "I know right!" Sawyer replied. "Sorry to brake it to you guys, but that looks gross" I said as I eyed there chocolate covered pile of gummy treats, fruits, candies, and just about everything else on the menu.

"You won't know until you try it" Sawyer said as he got a spoonful of his desert "No thank-" I was interrupted by a spoon being shoved into my mouth. It actually wasn't that bad "It's good right?" Sawyer asked when I finished chewing "Was I just force fed?" I asked Luke as he took a bite. "I believe so" he said when he finished chewing.

We finished up our deserts and they brought me back home. I was exhausted. I was always sleep deprived because of my stupid night mares, but after last nights rude awakening, there was no way I was going back to sleep. I don't care how tired I was.

"Thanks guys. See you later" I said as I hugged them both "Bye Daisy" they said in unison. I fed Rocco, and then got in my pjs and washed my face, brushed my teeth, and put my hair up in a messy bun. Then I remembered the note that was taped to my door when I got home. I went and grabbed my purse and retrieved the letter. I sat down on my bed as I read it.

Dear Daisy,
