The pain of Jenna’s disappearance affected not only Estrella and her family but everyone in town. Two weeks had gone by with no sign of her and Estrella began to lose hope. It was a lot for her but all she could think about was Jenna’s daughter who cried daily for her mommy. Not only has Jenna disappeared but so has Lucifer, since that night she was caught with Matthew he has been very silent which did worry her, but on the bright side Matthew was okay. He has a broken arm, broken nose, bruised face and a concussion. For some reason he doesn’t remember what happened at all, she had no intention of telling him, but he texted her daily and she would ignore him since she’s now the Devil’s girlfriend. Well, she thinks she is. Even though work was miserable without Jenna, Estrella still showed. Jenna was already replaced by a girl named Niki, who was only nineteen years old and had a lot of tattoos. It bothered Estrella that Bobby replaced Jenna so soon, but she had no control over that and kept biting her tongue. It was Monday night, nearly three AM and Estrella was still stuck at work due to a busy night. She had been on stage, serving drinks, then on stage again all night long. Her feet ached painfully from the high heels, but she couldn’t take them off so she complained quietly to herself. She had walked to the back to check her makeup in a private bathroom and to be alone for a moment, when she noticed someone behind her from the mirror’s reflection. She spun around, trying to see them in the shadows they stood in.
“Lucifer?”
“I bet you wish it was,” they responded. It was a familiar voice that replied but Estrella couldn’t put a name to it, until they came forward and she saw his face. Michael. “long time, no see, hm?”
She swallowed hard, refusing to be frightened by him. Lucifer’s other brother, Abaddon, told her that Lucifer wouldn’t let him harm her and she believed that. Now.
“What do you want?”
Michael was stunned by her sudden attitude.
“Boyfriend and girlfriend huh?” she didn’t speak, which made him grin because he knew she couldn’t deny that. He knew it all. “and you laid in bed with him too? You are so far from our side, it’s sickening and disappointing.”
“Look, I’m on no one’s side. I don’t care what you have against your brother but it has nothing to do with me, now excuse me because I have to get back to my job.”
Estrella turned and walked towards the door when Michael grabbed her from behind and slung her against the bathroom stalls. Her head throbbed and she struggled to keep her feet steady on the ground.
“You are so blinded by him, I pity you. Lucifer is nothing but evil, he doesn’t care about you nor love you. You are just someone he can use against us!”
Estrella rubbed the back of her head while staring at him angrily, she thought Angels were supposed to protect humans, not harm them like he just did!
“Why should I believe you?”
Michael was quiet for a moment, in thought, before he said;
“Where is Jenna?”
“How am I supposed to know?” Estrella snapped.
“Lucifer has her, Estrella.” he blurted out with no sympathy.
“No.” she shook her head. “no, he doesn’t.”
“Oh believe me, he does. He was so angry that she gave Matthew your number, he went to her house to take her life. But then he changed his mind, took her to the underworld where she has been tortured endlessly,” he told her and she shook her head in disbelief. She didn’t believe it. “it is your fault that she’s going through that.”
“I don’t believe you, because if it was true you would’ve stopped him!” she shouted at him. Her voice was cracking like glass.
“I wouldn’t,” he replied. “because you need to see what kind of monster you’re falling in love with. So you know the truth about him,” he looked down and opened his coat, slowly drawing out a knife from his inside pocket. “we warned you, Estrella. You didn’t listen. Now I have to kill you.”
He ran at her with the knife raised and she dodged him, running out of there as fast as she could with him following closely behind. She needed to leave now. She grabbed her bag and coat off the makeup table, then ran out the back door to her parked car. She refused to believe Michael, she just couldn’t and wouldn’t. He was just filling her up with lies, that was all he was doing. She got into her car and turned the key before the door was even shut, her hands were shaking but she didn’t let that stop her. She threw the car in reverse, hearing the tires screech. Michael was coming out of the building, slowing down to a jog, so she threw the car in Drive and pressed down on the gas. The car sped out of the parking lot and was immediately hit by a speeding truck. It all happened so fast her mind couldn’t wrap around what was happening. All she heard was tires screaming and glass shattering, then nothing but blackness
